When they have lights:
1) They will charge in alone and die.

When they have atlases:
1) They will charge in alone and die.

When they have missiles:
1) If you spot for them, they will not fire.
2) They will about face and chase at light mechs with lasers instead of firing at ranged targets.

TWhen you take one loss:
At least two will power down immediately and sit out.

When they should focus fire:
They will not.

When 1 team-mate should split to kill 1 mech easily:
It will take at least 4 of em to do so, and at a snails pace.

Pugging is just asking for frustration!

Yea... it happens. Pugging is painful.
I PUG too sometimes and it makes me want to cry.
Without voice comms it makes it really difficult to cooperate and plan.

Sad but true. Joining a unit is the only way to avoid it.

I killed you earlier and you seemed a fairly decent shot.

Untrue. Getting on one of the many unofficial voicechat servers (see the sticky in General) and hooking up with a group- not even a formal unit of any kind - is a path to a much smoother and team-oriented game in MWO. PUGs are PUGs, but not all premades are units...and plenty of premades are 8 (or less) people who got together on a Teamspeak Looking For Group channel and just went out and played.

But PUGing leaves you with the dregs of the game for teams. Suicide grinders, AFKers, the most newbie of newbies, and a rotating series of headaches for "partners" who don't care because usually, they won't see you again for a long time.

While much much less likely to happen on the free TS server(s), and I really hope more people join in on the TS servers as a first step to joining a unit, the only way to really avoid it is to join a unit. That way you play with the same bunch of people every time you log on, and your all working towards a common goal for when Community Warfare comes out.

I'm not dissing the TS channels here, at all, I think they are great, just slightly disagreeing with you on your assertions. I see the TS servers/channels as a first and very important step towards taking the next leap and joining a unit.
