There should be an option for casual players/soloers/puggers to not join games with premades, and join the next available game instead.

I don't want to play with premades, 4 or 8 man. I don't want them to "fix" it, I want to not having to deal with it, fixed or not. No premades for me, period. Let whoever wants it, get it.

I actually think this would be a much more useful fix than what they have planned. Have two queues.

Strict PUG

and Groups allowed.

That would end the problem once and for all. Then they can still implement match making within those two queues.

Biggest problem with this is if people were never exposed to teamplay they would never learn the do's and dont's of MWO.

Sometimes its worth beating the horse, be it dead or not. The phase1 phase2 solution won't make Puggers happy, and it won't make team players happy.

I agree, it won't make pugers happy, but at least they won't be able to blame it on groups anymore.

Edit: Also, if you think it is worth it to "beat a dead horse" then I'm not really sure you understand the concept of that phrase

Phase 1: November 6th

Pre-made groups will be limited to a max of 4 players when playing in random public forums. This is a quick fix to ease the PUG vs PRE issues. We do not consider this a final, nor complete fix to matchmaking.

Phase 2: November 20th

Pre-Made groups will be able to match against other pre-made groups.
  • Min group size: 4 players
  • Max group size: 8 players
  • Class Matching: No
  • Uneven Teams: Yes
Phase 3: December TBD

Full implementation of our modified ELO matchmaking solution. Details forthcoming.

Cheers!
