Had a match last night in the trial Awesome in Caustic Valley. Typical Defend spawn. Most of my (pug) team made its way up to the crater edge while I took the first perch on the left to dispose of my LRMs. The enemy crested and a few came from the left as well. I start dumping my LRMs, seeing targeted mechs light up nicely. A VERY good light pilot gets through the line and charges my position. Yes, he's fast...but I have perfect LoS his whole run in and try at least softening him up some on the way in, as I am completely alone and at his mercy. As he closes, and starts to circle, I paint LLs across his body (just swiping, no good direct 'hold' shots). I can't seem to do squat, and I'm quickly disposed.

Meh...I have bad matches, same as everybody else...but I spectate to the end as always, and find at the ending screen, I have done 1 damage total. No bonuses, No assists, No spots....ONE damage total. I emptied most of my LRMs on LoS targets...watched them hit...and peppered that annoying light multiple times with my LLs....yet ONE damage!

Yes, I understand ranges on LRMs, no they were not using cover. One damage means not one single missle made contact, and I guess, for a fraction of a second, one LL swipe hit something. I tried to take a SS, but for some reason all that saved was a completely black screen  I found it quite amusing, but It got me thinking. I've had plenty of matches where my final damage score looks incredibly low, where I KNEW I did a heck of a lot more, but wrote it off as wishful thinking in bad pugs.

Doesn't matter to much, and the MWO gods smiled on me next match with a 650 damage 2 kill 5 assist match, so I guess it all balances out  It's just a trial mech grind, so who cares anyhow, but It was strange.

Submit a ticket if you feel like it was truly a bug. A few things still could have laid waste to your LRMs such as AMS. Submitting a ticket will allow the devs to check out that game's details though

Probablly a bug, but I was shocked enough I don't have any match times or details to reference too for a ticket. This was a 4am Pug on Pug death frenzy, so no organized AMS formations to stop every single missle. It wasn't a real high quality match where startegy or skill would be expected to play that prominent a role across multiple targets. Just kinda curious if others have ever seen a one (1) damage match

Lights are really tough to hit with LRM's, more so if they are smart enough to pack AMS.

LRM boats are advised to always have a close range backup weapon, like a double rack of SRM 6's, or a pair of medium lasers.
Also don't get too far from your support. Some peaks or hill tops are great for launching but leave you vulnerable.

There are netcode and hit box issue the devs are aware.

I hit a stationary Raven 3 times with AC20 and never penetrated the armor, my Lasers seemed to hurt it though (slowly).
Day before I was in obersver mode and watched a teammate shoot 2 Lg Lasers into a shutdown Raven at point blank range, the damage didn't register. He got a second volley off as the mech powered up, again no damgae registered (sad thing was the match was down to those two mechs, both with orange internals on the CT).

Hit detection has been messed up with the last patch.
This may be the issue.

I am pretty sure that LRMs are currently doing more than one point of damage per missile but rather do two(2) damage per missile (with SRMs doing 2.5...). I guess that means you hit with half a missile, or you ran into a bug of some other sort.

Actually seeing as this happened in Caustic I will say that I think it is just a bug on this map.

I have noticed recently specifically on Caustic and not on any other that hitting on Caustic can for some reason completely bug out sometimes. I had two games in the last few weeks as my Jenner using small / med lasers. In these two games my damage in one was 7, in the other 20ish.

Yet I had spent at least half the game fighting lights and making them glow like the sun without doing any damage I could see. I was surprised to even get the 7 / 20 as far as I could see I had done none. No matter what leading I tried, my reticule was flashing red for hits also.

There is also two buildings in Frozen City over near D3 D4 ish that block LRM's for at least 50m larger hit boxes but that's a completely separate issue.
