Phase 2 is gonna be cool and probably not what you are expecting.

I play in a lot of premades, and do some pugging on the side as well. Phase 1 is kinda meh, but now that they've announced what they're actually doing for Phase 2, I can't wait.

Quote from Bryan from here:

Phase 2: November 20th
Pre-Made groups will be able to match against other pre-made groups.
Min group size: 4 players
Max group size: 8 players
Class Matching: No
Uneven Teams: Yes

Okay, so it sounds like if you're in a premade of 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 you go in the premade pool. It random pairs you with anyone else from the pool. So you're going to be silly not to have 8 in your team. But the kicker is Class Matching finally goes away. That is going to bring out the best and worst in premades. That means you will have to start building viable teams instead of the 'eh, drop with whatever' mindset that we have now, because the other team could have anything. So you're going to need to be able to counter 8 LRM boats, or 8 Atlases, or 8 scouts by being well rounded and adaptable. Now, I'm not looking forward to the cheese (like those 3 specific team builds) but I am looking forward to having some clashes and seeing what works against what... a LOT.

Personally I can't wait for this tactical layer to enter the game, and look forward to getting into the nitty gritty of 'new' play styles and tactics.

Also, it's really nice to see the general skill level increase as much as it has in the 4 days since open beta. Matches are a LOT tougher to win today as people are getting better and affording their own mechs. Here's hoping for more people overcoming the learning curve!

Probably because you're playing the same die hards as of late and most new players quit.
