The whole reason to buy a chassis only mech is so that it costs less than buy a fitted mech to strip. You already pay retail for all the components on a new mech, but can only sell stripped components for wholesale. This would allow you to pay retail for a chassis only, it would be more expensive than selling a completely stripped down chassis, but less expensive than buying a fitted mech and stripping it down.

having the option exactly like it is when you sell a mech would be great the reason i say this is you may have the 4 med lasers and 2 lrm 10s already in your mechlab if you could save say 500k off the purches price and throw your own stuff in it i don't see a problem. But i would say this only aplies to weapons and ams and things like comand consoles.

I support this. We should be able to buy either a fully equipped default loadout of the variant or a stripped version of it.

I approve of stripped mech purchases.

I want to revive this post because I kinda think this is a thing that I like.

I would not mind having the option to buy a stiped down mech that has only a standard engine for that type and the normal amount of armor. Everything ells is stripped off. Nothing special.
