Before Open Beta started (October 26th) and the switch to the new Forums... Old Beta forums you could switch it whenever you wanted...

BUT... again, they're still adding/changing things here on the new site... and again, having an Allegiance icon does nothing for you... you get no bonus for it... until Community Warfare gets added there's no point to it really since in-game we're all Lone Wolves anyhow...

Edit: It's broke. After clicking "select allegiance icon" it brings me to my profile page, with info I cannot change.

That's just an item for your cockpit. It doesn't indicate your actual faction. Right now, you can think of yourself as belonging to a faction while putting a different faction's banner in your cockpit because you like the look of it.

Good new is that everyone should now be able to change/select their Allegiance Icon...
