i like this game very much. the mech design and graphics are good. the mechs feel like the mechs from previous versions of the game. the maps are well designed and think the right size so u cant get lost in them and u dont feel like your in a box.
that i would introduce into this game to make it better would be buildings and structures that can be destroyed. some type of system that would make running into things matter since a major part of combat is driving your mech.
the last thing i think would make the noobie exp better would be to have a system in place where if u are in a trial mech u are put in with other trial mechs only there was no bigger dishearting thing when playing then to see a team full of vets and founders knowing u were about to get owned. what this would do would allow new people to learn the movements of the mechs the maps themselves and give them some good combat exp with people of the same abilitys. its the combat exp that will get u hooked on this game that will keep people coming back for more and keep it strong.

The matchmaker will be changed during the next weeks to have Trial Mechs only fighting other Trial Mechs.
Enjoy the game, and "hit" you in game!

It's even more fun with you hav a group of guys calling out targets (I didn't even notice the Alpha/Bravo/Charlie..etc letters assigned to the enemy team until I played on TS...FACEPALM moment when it clicked).
It's crazy fun on a VOIP and don't worry about a mic if you don't have one, just listening is worth it. It's mainly the Commander and 1/2 other guys calling targets out.
Welcome and enjoy!

I know the game can be rough, it is a very steep learning curve with little assistance for new players.
Matchmaking changes are coming! Phase 1 of the new matchmaker is scheduled for next tuesday. A new new user flow system is coming soon as well (new user flow is 'how new players experience the game')
I encourage you to stick with it as we get through the Open Beta's baby steps. If you have specific questions please ask.

yeah bit optimistic

they are removing 8 man groups next week while they work on the full match maker, no one is entirely sure when phase 3 is coming

The matchmaking changes coming next Tuesday are not related pecifically to Trial Mechs. They will, however, reduce the number of 8 - 0 matches by reducing the effectiveness of pre-mades. (and in the future, by partitioning premades into a seperate queue)
However! They have said they want to make the system "more generous" to trial mech users, and this Command Chair topic discusses (very briefly) that they will be improving the New User Flow (how new players experience the game) http://mwomercs.com/...nd-trial-mechs/
Details are still forthcoming on how exactly they intend to improve the game for trial mechs / new users

I don't mind any of these ideas, there's just one flaw I see, not trying to be an *** or anything. Very few of the closed beta player will be using trial mechs, at least not for very long. Since the tutorial video they made frankly sucks, it would be unlikely that you'd find the helpful vets to help you learn the game or ask questions. I do approve of the idea, but I think it would be better to go hand in hand with a sort of mentor system or the likes, to help teach the new players in the trial games. Just my two cents.

Thats why i said "...next weeks"! We will see when we will get the Trial Mech vs. Trial Mech only! But, I'm optimistic to see it within this year.

Right, not saying you were wrong, just providing clarification. although they never said it would be trial mechs vs trial mechs, just that it would be 'more generous' to trial mech users. The TBA December Matchmaking changes will see the 1.0 of their 'modified ELO system' which will sort players into different tiers.
Hopefully our current crop of rookies can hold out until then without being chased away to other games.

Yeah, right, PGI and there totally clear statements and announcements!

But I'm very sceptic with the "ELO-based matchmaking", did you ever take a look to the real ELO? (It's a rating for Chess players) That will be hard, very hard, very, very hard to get it working!!!
