If you want to be in a pre-made team....

I'm wondering why the argument pre-made teams always seem to use is that everyone else in pugs should do what they do. Which suggests they want the competition, yet it seems nobody who joins a pre-made is actually asking for pre-made vs pre-made match options.
Why are pre-made teams not dissatisfied with the lack or organised competition? Why are they not demanding a better match making system? Seriously there isn't a single thread from someone on this forum complaining that they can't get a competitive match against another pre-made team....
That seems strange to me.

The thing is, many of those people don't really visit the forums much and/or the backwards ability to form organized games is making them more patient.

AS Krivvan says. Playing a premade and roflstomping PUGs more or less easily grows old and fast. Lullabys you into a false feeling of being a good player when actually you would need stiff opposition and humiliating defeats to really learn something.

Thats why we had/have the pre-made drop of the week and all the competition threads. Like in the stickies where its easy to see.

The people from organised teams you see on this forum are only a minority of those who exist, for that reason.
With Open Beta being less than a week old, I've seen a drop-off in the number of teams able to field a full competitive team (people need to rebuild their stockpiles), and the way I understand it, the 4x man team thing next week (Phase-1) is gonna put a massive kibosh on any team v team action too, but hopefully that won't last more than a week or two before Match Maker phase-2 kicks in.
I've said before and I'll say again no doubt - I would glady trade the entire galaxy-map based metagame and everything planned for it, for a simple Team vs Team interface like you had in unsophisticated games like Unreal Tournament, back when BSP was king and games ran happily on Pentium-2's..

Why do people who dont do premades always think that the people playing in them are nothing but A-holes and are here to pad their stats?
Id rather have a tight match where 2-3 mechs remain instead of the 8-0 romps

It was caustic and every one of them was hiding in the hills behind their base...As soon as we all stepped foot on their base as a group we where ambushed and 2 atlas the gausscat and a jenner was lost right there .....We lost because one of their jenners ran to our base and capped but it was amazing.

I didn't call anyone an *******, I also didn't accuse anyone of just wanting to artificially pad their stats.
Truth is, I'm a disabled gamer, I have no interest in playing competitively because I'll never be that good, I just want to drop into matches and know that I at least have a 50/50 chance. I don't believe everyone who teams up wants to face roll pugs all the time but I do think more noise should be made by those that do want competition, because ultimately those who do deserve it, and maybe then, you guys can faceroll the wannabe pug stompers and I can get my 50/50 chance every match.
All I want, is an equal chance of winning, sometimes having a close fight and losing is still a lot of fun, having the floor wiped with my entire team is not fun, it's not even interesting.
I was in the beta before teaming was added, it was a hell of a lot of fun back then, hence why I paid for the founders pack, I want that back, surely there must be a way to get what I want and what you want, without insulting each other?

Obviously never read the plethora of posts about it on the old beta forum when it was around. Gaussdragon posted several pleas for teams wanting to select other teams to play for tournaments that are still ongoing, but stagnated due to current matchmaking. Hell there was even a shout casted final match in the Run Hot or Die tourney linked in on the front page of MWO days after it happened. How did it happen? Hours of two teams trying to sync up with each other to play the matches and getting slapped instead with random pugs. The fact that it may seem strange to you that you haven't seen this 'evidence' is evidently because you haven't LOOKED FOR IT. Now, since it is yet another thread asking for lobbies where competitive teams can find each other to play and bypass hours of alt+f4ing from many games to get things done, it will probably be locked. Interesting though, that this one has an accusitorial tone from the perspective of abject ignorance on the subject. Humorous, indeed.

I'm sure he wasn't talking about you mate, but I think you'd have a fine old time running with groups on the various community TS servers.
There's guys in my team who due to hardware on their lappy don't use mics, or very rarely, who often have a young kid jump up on the keyboard mid-match, and all sorts of crazy stuff, and that's within the confines of a competitive team - Please don't think that just because you don't want to play ultra-competitively means you need to miss out on the sheer fun of playing a cool game with fun guys who want to have a good laugh as much as they want to blow up stompy mechs.
It would be a massive shame if you missed out on that - You know what my favourite computer game ever is?
Micro Machines on the sega megadrive (Genesis).
The one that had 2x extra controller ports built into the cartridge.
Nothing beat having a bunch of mates round and having a laugh while paying a silly game, and MWO is no different, just the technology is slightly different.

You are assuming we are not? Also we know that MM is not finished and are just being patient till the changes catch up.

Or at lest that is Murphy's Law's perspective. We know changes are coming, we are waiting to see what shakes out and then we will plan the best means to kill you all.

Don't believe the ******** about them wanting Premade v Premade, there was a clan on here last night +SJR+ Dale streaming his supposedly helpful program to help new players. It consisted of him and his clan stomping Pug's in their Gauss Kats while taking the **** out of them. They tried to deny it but I saw it myself, it was pathetic tbh and it's this behaviour that is ruining the game for new players. The sooner Premades fight Premades the better, then new players may hang around a bit longer.

I think your misguided, SJR are the team who set up competitive tournaments in closed beta, to give premades something to do.
Theres nothing wrong with taking the p out of bad players, we all do it and there are plenty of bad players around after all this is why mechs like the centurion, dragon, awesome work in open games....they certainly don't in competitive games.
But if you honestly trying to suggest premade competitive teams want nothing more than to get online together and PUG stomp well...then there is no hope for you.
There is nothing entertaining or competitive about rolling pugs, it just breeds sloppiness and false confidence.
Problem is we are given no choice, because PGI would rather focus on Hero mechs and bobbleheads rather than sorting out a proper matchmaking system before open beta.

I don't know where you got the idea that we love PUG stomps. We don't, it's boring. Maybe there's a couple of premades out there that do and that's how you got that idea? It's also possible that you've misunderstood us. The majority of us want private games so we can do leagues and to be matched against other premades in the matchmaking. When I tell you to either join a premade yourself or shut up it's because they already plan to put premades against premades in phase 2 of the matchmaking revamp and we get 10,000 pointless threads about it per hour. It's not going to change until phase 2, I'm tired of your constant QQ and these threads aren't going to make the new matchmaking happen faster.

Having played with Steel Jaguar for several days, I can assure you they take no particular joy in playing against PUGs. Glory apparently gets offended easily, but otherwise they seemed like a good bunch of people.

Because you have the option to simply drop the TS and play with your friends without any real advantage, to put it: a premade pug. Calling of targets, plan explaining mid-game and preorganised setup of mechs would be down and you would be on the same ground as pugs.
Noone does it (I know only about 1 fool who rather plays pug than to have an advantage), because deeply within, this type of play suits you.

It's not as if all premade groups have unanimous opinion. All we're saying is that a good number of them do wish for premade versus premade games (including me).

However since we already know they are working on it I don't see the point in the whining about something they are already doing. I find it annoying when people go on about something I'm already doing to me so I don't do it to others.

I think you have a misconception about premades. Most premades I see on Teamspeak are infact just people playing a pickup game. They are not dropping with a clan or any organized units. People form groups with the other people in looking for group. They're just people interested in cooperation and coordination. Now I don't know how your are disabled, but I reckon people can find a way around.
Go have a look at Comstar EU or NA.
