MRM missiles and LRM missile nerf

Hi,

This is my first post on this game. I wanted to suggest to implement Medium range missiles into the game. They would work as LRMs but not climbing as high, so that they are not able to hit mechs covering behind buildings or other objects.

In addition, the LRM should do less damage to the armor parts, but having a flying path that allow them to dive behind the buildings, so they would force the targets to move out of cover.

The mech pilot can then switch to the MRMs to do the real damage.

So the LRMs would mostly be used to frighten the ennemies and reduce the blind killing boating actually seen on the maps.

You're supposed to be able to avoid LRM's with cover, otherwise the imbalance against the missile boats would become even worse. It's bad enough now when they fly through buildings now and then. Also, if you did manage to lower it to a point where it's only supposed to scare people and not kill them, grab an AMS and ignore all the missiles. No one would be hiding in cover anymore. I don't see a point in MRM's, let alone the fact that they don't actually exist. SRM's and LRM's are real weapons, there is no such classification as an MRM. It would probably just be a new type of LRM.

MRMs are an actual thing but, sadly, they aren't introduced until a bit further down the timeline. But I'll be right there with you waiting for them along with my rotary autocannons.

Huh, what do you know, I have never even touched those in battletech or mechwarrior. Guess we probably will get them XD Eventually.

Ups, forgot that the game is following a timeline history and that the MRM's were not guided. I didn't meant that the LRM should be nerfed to be worthless, just to avoid the kills in one or two salvos.

I know it would be simplier to play as a united group to protect under AMS fire, but for now I am just joining as a PUG which limits efficient teamplay.

I would love some MRMs. But they are around 8-9 years off in the time-line. Of course, I would not be suprised that the Devs have a planned "time skip" in the future, possibly after the Clans are introduced. But even if we will not have to wait 8 years to get MRMs, I seriously doubt we will be seeing them in less than 2 years.

based on what i read on sarna it sounds like srm (currently in game) are really just mrms with only the short range implemented... once they adjust the streak spread ( and add 4 and 6? ), it would be nice to see srms get longer ranges with damage trailing off like other weapons...

though if you really want mrms you could just roll a lbx, in game its kinda the same at the moment...
