Hi there,

Just thought I'd make a case for including the 9Q variant of the Awesome in Mechwarrior Online, with some degree of bias.

*AWS-9Q is a brutal, durable, specialised, low cost medium-range striker from hell.

*AWS-9Q is different from other Awesome variants in the game in having both left and right arm energy hardpoints and left and right torso energy hardpoints. It could be balanced by having less hardpoints in those locations compared to an 8Q.

*I do not know much about 3D modelling and animation, but it seems most of the work is done already. Starting from the 8Q, It would just need the left arm to be replaced with a mirrored right arm.

*Every variant, no matter how slight the difference (think AWS-8R vs AWS-8V), is appreciated by fans of the universe.

So, I hope you consider it!

From sarna.net (emphasis mine):

Quote

AWS-9Q - A basic upgrade introduced in 3057 for the 8Q and 9M Awesome, the heat sinks are upgraded to double heat sinks and are reduced to nineteen. The saved weight is used to add a fourth PPC to the 'Mech as well as a Guardian ECM Suite.

That variant is 7-8 years down the timeline road, as this game is currently in 3049.

The Battletech Universe: Where it takes 352 years to realize it might be cool to have four of something if it's gonna overheat you instantly anyway.
