Hello, I haven't found a decent explanation of the difference between pulse and regular lasers, would someone kindly explain it to me? As in the pros and cons of both...or something along those lines.

I am also curious what the differences in the engines are besides just "bigger number = better".

Bigger = Heavier but faster.

Max Speed of any Mech = (Engine Rating / Tonnage) * 16.2

This is the same for both Standard and XL Engines.

XL engines are more expensive and lighter at the cost of additional critical slots taken out of both of your side torsos, in addition to the caveat that any Mech with an XL engine can die if any of his side torsos are destroyed.

Pulse lasers have a shorter duration and thus deal damage more quickly and precisely. They deal slightly more damage overall, at the cost of generating more heat and being heavier - as well as having slightly reduced ranges.
