Pulse lasers and DHS

If you aren't going to give us proper DHS, then i think you need to reduce the heat of ER/Pulse weapons. They just aren't very ... good... atm. I really have no idea WHY pulse has to have 3 handicaps against them in the first place. Less range, more heat, more tonnage. One of these needs to go, and it should be the heat.

I LOVE pulse. They're really great weapons. Why? Because you can hit a fast mech and still do damage. Change not needed.

DHS are currently bugged as are pulse lasers, if anyone bothers to read the threads by the dev team.

DHS fix (or part of it) will be coming in on the patch on 6th, as will the fix to pulse lasers. Pulse lasers are better than standard and are meant to generate more heat and the moment they dont this will be fixed along with DHS values. Instead of just complaining about some thing try reading.


How they should work
For example

Weapon Ton Range Crit Dam Heat recycle duration
Small Laser 0.5 90-180 1 3 2 2.25 0.75
Small Pulse 1 90-180 1 3 3 2.25 0.5

Large Laser 5 450-900 2 9 7 3.25 1
LargePulse 7 300-600 2 10 9 3.25 0.75

A pulse laser does more damage and has a quicker refire rate, but is comes at a cost of shorter range, higher tonnage and more heat generate. Meaning that a pilot has to be more sparing with their firing and heat management. I see nothing wrong with this. Let them fix the bug
