Hi
Very casual player looking for a frr regiment

I stink at this game but i am really good at drawing fire.

No voice capability

Solhama Steve

That was me, when I first joined! :P
What's changed is that now I have voice capability, and my teammates can hear when I'm drawing fire. ;)

Hey everyone, I have been playing since closed beta, almost completely light, occasional medium player. Looking for a casual group, although I am only 13, I hope I can join one because I will listen to orders and do not complain about everything. Thanks

Anyone got any room for one more? Been playing Mechwarrior since it was in EGA and old tabletop gamer. Fairly new to MWO, but fairly decent, I think. Usually prefer skirmishing in any mech in the 50-70 ton range.

So I've no real idea about Battletech lore in regards to houses/regiments etc, but my friends and I make up about 1.5 lances together. Would that be a small house or something else? We don't really want to join a big group of people, but we do love yelling out "GLORIOUS BATTLE" during, well, glorious battles.

Well generally a great house is essentially the leader of a nation in Btech Lore. Going from smallest to largest unit organization is usually: 4 mechs/lance, 3 lances/company, 3+ companies/battalion, 3 battallions/regiment, multiple regiments/division. It more or less stops there with most great houses boasting ~100 mech regiments (maybe more or less, i'm going off the top of my head here) and many more conventional and infantry regiments. So with 1.5 lances you could technically call that an understrength company, or if you are a fan of Comstar, a Level II (they use a system of 6 as opposed to 4)

Is your group of guys looking for a larger group to run with?

Yeah, a "house" refers to a noble family...Medieval-style feudal government, with the people in charge being royalty, and passing on the office of leadership through heredity.

The Battletech story line started off being all about the fight over who should be succeed a king whose heirs died with him.

The FRR is completely uninterested in such nonsense. :P

The FRR wasn't around long enough for its Parliament to be controlled by a hereditary political class. Personally I still can't get over the fact that the damned space Vikings don't have a hereditary monarchy.

I'd like to join a House regiment if there's still anyone recruiting, because if I don't start meeting and playing with people the burn-out is going to last until launch! I run a Trebuchet 3C, slightly modified but with the same focus as stock, and can generally be convinced to pick up anything Medium or heavier. I'm a fan of Lore in general but largely a BattleTech novice.

Come on over son! There's room in the ranks for more, we have a lot of other new folks at the moment as well and most are eager to play! If you have any questions let me know!

It is a bit sad, considering the good momentum we have in the FRR that we can not affect the history at large.. But maybe we can carve out a new empire in the periphery once the fertilizer hit the heatsink so to speak.

I'm not so sure that we won't be able to affect the history at large. While in the cannon we know the FRR gets clobbered, we're only assuming the same will happen here. For all we know, they will invade elsewhere. We know from the developers that this won't follow the cannon exactly...so who knows what the future holds for our lovely nation of far-flung space-faring Swedes?

That being said, it certainly doesn't hurt to prepare...after all, worst case scenario is we'll be well defended against the clans. Best Case Scenario: they strike elsewhere and we bum rush the Draconis Combine :)

Amen. I've only being playing a week and as much as I love it, without some type of team/faction motive, the game play is going to get repetitive.

I can't imagine PGI would implement the FRR as a playable faction if they were only going to immediately destroy it upon launch. I'd say it's pretty safe to assume we're venturing into an alternate reality when the clans invade.

Hey we have like 2 years before Tukayyid, and even then we'll still have 6 planets.

Unit Name: 1st Lance, A. Company, 4th Kavalleri
Unit Type: Lights/Mediums Scouting Lance
Website: N/A
Approx. Unit Strength: 1 Lance
Recruiting?: No
Contact Person: Adverse Reaction
Optional Contact: Chris Nova

We are a group of friends that are all in with the FRR. Not recruiting since we want to keep ourselves limited to just a Lance. Would like to be part of the defense group, if not part of any planning that goes on.

Meh, nobody started 3rd dark0ns yet... the best of the best. If I had time, I'd go for it... any active EU tz ones going?

I'd be carefull about recruiting those mercenary units, I hear some of them have fairly steep prices :)
