Hey guys, unbenounced to me I just discovered MWO. Now don't get me wrong, I enjoy the game very much, but with that being said, I would enjoy the game much more if I had friends to play with. As I'm sure you know, first impressions are everything, and first impressions is exactly game does horridly. I wont even mention the first experience with the social tab, or the learning curve with the controls, because the scope of what i'm talking about will mainly focus on grinding and mc credits. After you get the hang of things you're presented with a choice. Grind for 70+ games (a total of almost 12 hours,) or buy mc credits to aquire your first mech.

The arguement I want to make is too deep to do justice in a few enough words to keep people interested. So, for the purpose of brevity i'll be blunt. MC credits cost too much and mech's take too long to earn.

Take for example the MC credit system, they offer (where i'm from,) 3000 mc credits for $15. But mech's arent' a round number, so you're stuck with buying one 2000ish mech and leaving the rest to go to waste. It takes over 12 hours to just earn your first light mech with CB. This is creating a divide amoung my group of gaming friends. Fracturing our community, because like myself. I neither have the money to waste on such a steep price point, nor the time to blow on such steep cost.

compare the cost of mc to a AAA title and your gouging. Compare the CB time investment and your gouging.

I wan't this game to do well, it's just over ambitious and over zealous and it's causing the casual onlooker to stray away. Here's the thing though, I don't play games to grind away alone online. If my friends lose interest so will I. So for the sake of keeping the community togehter and the longevity of the game, something has to change. Whether they take the extra 20 MC away on the cost so you can buy a 2000 heavy and 1000 light, or they make it easier to earn cb it doesn't matter. They just have to do something. What do you think? Am I alone on this, are your friends finding it hard to get into as well?

I agree with the first part, but not the second. Many of the MC prices are ridiculously high. Earning a mech in-game is about right though. Maybe slightly on the high side, but not too bad.
