I understand that there lots of things that will be "in flux" in the game right now, but is there any chance you can possibly release a few more videos from your play tests?
Anything is better than nothing... even stills...
I'm not asking for a full length battle video, just something showing some mech's fighting...
I don't think it's asking for much.... is it? please... pretty please... you can have my first born if it will help?

I'd really like to see the Catapult and Centurion in action, and maybe the awesome if you've got the PPCs working.

It would be nice if as the game gets closer to a finished product, they start including some video in their monthly releases.
While we all appreciate Paul's interpretation of organic abstractionism, it's a natural progression to the releases.
Imagine the first mech release that gets video of it in game with the concept art?
Gold.

This idea is just six different kinds of sexy.

I'm all for it, because there are still tons of people that scream vaporware and we won't dissapoint them, right?

I'm opposed to this. Mostly because it's a bad idea for marketing, not that I personally don't want to see it.
You'll get two big problems from it:
You'll get two big problems from it:
- Casual followers of the project that start crying foul for unfinished things like animation (this has already happened with the 60 seconds we did get!)
- Hard core people trying to get an idea for damage and balance by picking apart the video, then immediately complaining about it (Again, already happened - see the 'AC/20 is moving too slowly!' and 'Medium lasers don't make enough heat!' threads)

I just want to see some videos of the play tests where everyone gangs up on Paul, then a camera pan to Paul in the office throwing his joystick.

Maybe a meta-game easter egg? Troll-hunt? Based off of the old Duck Hunt, but you see a Mauler in the bottom of the screen, and Paul runs across screaming Trololololol.

To be clear, I know that a lot of visual will cause debate (on side note, as the dev's said, they do listen to our suggestions), I'm sure that there are some visuals that could be released.
In a similar way to what Kaemon suggests, it doesn't just have to be Mechs... looking through the Cockpit at scenery whizzing past would be nice as well, non-warfare based videos. Maybe even an image from a catapult miles away from battle providing artillery support... All of these would appease me (personally), and I'm not sure that they're something that would change drastically...
In regards to the marketting impact, providing it's done to the current schedule (ie. as part of the Wednesday Hot Drop), it can only increase the hype...
Just my thoughts obviously, and I'm sure you guys will do what is best for the longevity of the product... as always... great work from what I've seen so far...
Edit... I realise that there is a change from wanting a Mech fighting video in the first post, and not being bothered in this one... We all need to compromise...
