Here u can see the distribution area of Segestria bavarica. It's in german, sry. In my local area (north rhine westphalia, germany), Segestria bavarica is very rare. I have found it in the winter in my stairwell. At first I thought it would be a juvenile common house spider (Tegenaria atrica). S. bavarica likes it warm and would probably spend the winter there. It was more dead than alive, but i've nursed it back.
Here some more pics of mine. It bulids nice cobweb tubes!

Yea, Buddy is what they call a "Blue mutation" of the Indian Ringneck Parrot. The blues were first discovered in the wild in the 1950's, in India and are pretty common today because of breeding. His feathers are indeed very tightly packed, when he has all his feathers in order it does look like his plumage is painted on, they are very sleek and fast fliers. Their tails are as long as their body so Buddy is easily over a foot long head to tail. He's the most gentle bird, second only to my Budgie. Every morning when I get up he comes out of his cage and wants rubbed behind his neck, and under his wings and gives kisses. In the mid 1980's I caught a Peach Faced Lovebird flying around my home, she was the meanest bird I ever encountered and stayed so until she died from liver failure 10 years later, before I got Budgie. So I know what it's like when they can draw blood at will, Cheeper was a very mean bird for a "lovebird"
Birdeater, as a kid I would have loved to stop over at your house, you got all the pets I wanted back then, but my parents just wouldn't let me keep Heck I'd love to see your setup as an adult, that's a pretty neat collection you have there, and I bet they all keep you busy!!
So what's the largest tarantula you have currently? How long is he/she with full legspan?
And how big will the giant centipede actually grow to?
My parent's never let me get that Mexican Red Haired Trantula I wanted as a kid, so I caught this little guy below and happily fed him flies all summer: Problem was I found out Herby was a she and had laid about 100 eggs or so, after she folded up a leaf and created a nest for them so I carefully let her go with her little ones after they hatched in a safe place near the house in the fall. For those not familiar, this little guy is only about an inch long, and they really don't make any webs, but they are pretty smart and I've watched them track down a fly and actually catch them in mid air as they leap after the fly on a single web thread. Pretty neat little buggers.
I'm not that little kid anymore, but when I find one of these guys I do keep them in a large jar and like to give them flies in the summer, always letting them go before Fall, they get pretty fat by then!! How could anyone deny a face like that?

My Reptiles
This is my beloved "Lord Dark Helmet" (Space Balls movie ). He is a male, 6 years old Veiled Chameleon (Chamaeleo calyptratus). A german offspring breed that comes from the cologne zoo.
This is "Ivan". He is a European Giant Legless Lizard (Ophisaurus apodus). Very rare and very expensive, but they're nice and interesting reptiles. They can grow to 1,20 meters and live for more than 50 years.

Thx for your comment. Your lil spider guy is a female jumping spider spec. and its behavior is normal. Don't worry. They're day active predators and they don't build any cobs!
To your question: A.t.m. my biggest Tarantula is my female, wild cought King Baboon Tarantula (Citharischius crawshayi). It is a monster of a spider. Very untamed and aggressive. It kills mices or young rats without any problems. It lives in deep burrows. I see it two or three times in a year, but i can hear its loud hisses if i come to close to its burrow. The King Baboon Tarantula is Africas biggest spider, but my young Black Brazilian Giant Birdeater (Lasiodora parahybana) can grow up bigger than the King Baboon. The biggest Tarantula on earth is the Goliath Birdeater (Theraphosa blondi) from brazil. Ugly but BIG!

Our Mammals
Our cats Sydney (5 years) and Murphy (2 years). I have thousands of pictures. These ones are a bit older. Murphy is already full grown.
Our rabbits Thor (hanging ears) and Loki (black / normal ears). Both are 6 years old.
Ok that's it!
Don't ask how much time and money i spend every month, cause the answer is simple ...
ENOUGH !

Scolopendra subspinipes dehaani can grow up to 20cm. It's one of the biggest asian giant centipedes, but some south american species grow up much bigger. Scolopendra gigantea or Scolopendra galapagoensis can grow up to more than 30cm. They can easily overwhelm small mammals like mice and bats or small anoli lizards and young snakes. They even kill and eat big Tarantulas. Giant centipesdes are very fast, nervous and very aggressive. Their venom is very strong and effective.
