I think i know who you're talking about though. Every so often i run into the same two guys in paired streak cats. They can pretty much take out an uncoordinated pug team by themselves : /

1) A single decent assault brawler can take down usually multiple streakcats. (Me just tell my own lights/meds to draw the cat towards me then use my superior alpha & armor to force them to die/run from me.)
In that case, either they continue to go for the lights & make predictable patterns for my own alpha or try to go for me & expose themselves to vengeful lights/meds. This also works because me Assault be made to brawl & has a tank modifier at the cost of the operation time limit.)
(.-.)
2) LRM boats can destroy bad streakcats/streaks playing in caustic. (Because a streakcat has to be ~270 meters or so to use the streaks & require their entire upper torso to be effective. Losing a single ear = halved damage output. Losing back/CT = dead.)
3) Send in laserbacks against them. A decent laser boat be effectively immune to screenshake & if lucky/skilled may core the streakcat's weakly armored rear.
Unfortunately streaks & LRM be the easy mode of MWO & the counter requires significantly more skill/teamwork than the strategy itself.
They really should make it easier to lose target lock. (And aye, me has played a streakcat in CB losing lock be very easy to avoid.)

I love my Streakcat but I have no problems hitting a Jenner with lasers on other builds. It takes practice unless the guy has 350+ ping.

Depends on your connection probably, and theirs as well.
I can hit lights with my AC20 and gauss no problem.
Streak cats are a pain, and are priority targets for sure. Shutting down can be funny if it is just them. Otherwise, wait for the streak accurracy nerf.

If this catches on, I will drop my armor/increase speed/drop a missle or two and add lasers.
It will basically be a Mad Cat D.

Right now the Netcode sucks so hard, that its ultra hard to kill light mechs. You seem to hit them on your client.... but in reality they dont get damage.
Streak cats are the answer to the sucking code. I tend to hit the lights even if i see the missile hit a corner of a building.
Streaks are the response to bad ping and bad netcode.
And we need ALOT more streak Cats to deal with all the jenner laser boats. so pls make a streak cat urself!

Draw the STREAKcats to the rest of the team if you can.

Well considering i live in Australia and there is no hope for local servers, i will be forever laggy. As will many many others. When you hit something on your screen in the perfect spot it would be nice if that spot actually took damage.

She led a commando circling her by like 15 meters with med lasers and got a kill. Even though on her screen she missed.
Took me like a day of practice to get the hang of it but it's definitely possible to consistently kill lights.

Piloting a light mech lost it's allure for me when they (temporarily) took out knockback. I liked the challenge of having to weave between enemy mechs and my teammates at 140kph : /

1. The netcode makes it damn near impossible to hit a light with anything else. Even when you pop them with a laser by leading, it seems to only do a fraction of the damage.
2. Streaks are current bugged to where they always hit center torso. If I remember right, they are supposed to spread like SRMs and hit whatever they come in contact with (e.g. if you're left torso/left arm is facing them, it should spread over your LT, LA, LL).

While I don't run the 6 streak cat my favourite build for an A1 is 2xLRM 15 and 4 streaks because streaks are the only effective option an A1 has against lights (normal srm's, the only other weapon they can mound have a really hard time with it).
