Heh, funny.
A FWL-er talking about PPCs.
Didn't know they still had any. :)
Other than on the Awesomes.

That was Adam Steiner, actually.

Adam Steiner was quoting Jerome Blake, dude. Thats why his allegiance is called into question during the jihad.

The Comstar Sorcebook. The Greater Periphery Nation sourcebook.. Historical: Reunification War. Virtually any book that details the fall of the Star League in any way. Do some reading, I cant do all the work for you. It,s such a common sidenote that you cant help but stumble upon it. Or try Sarna.net Jerome Blake article.

If you can't provide me with an actual reference, I'll consider it null and void - and consider you a Wobbie-supporter.
It isn't in Historical: Reunification War, nor in Housebook: Major Periphery States.

From the prologue to Shadows of Faith:

Quote

Kernoff did not bother to hide his smile. Even went so far as
to nod his encouragement to St. Jamais. “Did not Blake once say,
‘information is ammunition?’”

And in Jihad Hot Spots: 3070:

Quote

Gabriel Jardinais, ISAP: “Sir! Rumor has it that ‘Information
is ammunition’ is actually one of Blake’s sayings? Any response to
those who feel that this phrase links you to the Blakist pogrom?”
[Adam] Steiner: (Baffled) “What? Who the hell are you, and who let
you in here? I’m not going to respond to hysterical allegations like
that! Next!”

And I think that pretty much also sums up my level of knowledge of the BattleTech universe. :)

Eh, alright. Hegira.
As for Shadows of Faith, I typically do not read the novels - only the sourcebooks.
And given my lack of interest in the wobbie jihad, I have only read the parts related to the Combine.
Stupid Kokuryu-Kai overdosing on stupid pills. >_>

Yeah, Im not spending my saturday finding page numbers for someone who couldnt be bothered to check the first book
I reference nor Sarna.net, which is exactly what that website is for. I will consider you ill-read and unable to follow simple directions, and we'll both go on with our day.

I did partially check the C* sourcebook.
But since I can't use the search function in it, it'd be a lot of time to find one tiny phrase.
I got better things to do then read an entire sourcebook in the false hope of finding one tiny phrase for a mere internet discussion.

Then how come I found it? In one search? That's pretty sad if you couldn't.
Sorry, I'm done feeding things under bridges for today.

I passed Inner Sphere History 101 - but to tell the truth, I kinda drifted through that class. I tend to pay a lot more attention to my mech engineering, but while I'm not all that learned in the local history, I do know the major players or the most part.
Unfortunately, I'm most learned in the Dark Age era - heretical, I know, but that's jyst how it is.

Fiat, no doubt.
The writers always favoured you davion delinquents.
The only direct lines of it that I could find were on the forum (unsourced quote) and on a TCG card, attributing it to Adam Steiner.

Yeah, it comes up whenever the books refer to Jerome Blake as "Blessed Blake".

So far, I've read Marik's Handbook, and started skimming over Steiner's. In a lot of ways, there's a lot of overlap (Duh, half of the FWL's wars were with the Commonwealth). Is anyone else impressed with the depth and detail that these books had? For creating background fluff for a wargame, they cover a LOT of ground.

I agree with you, the house handbook series are great to have for generating ideas for the RPG, though myself, I've put the War of 3039 through much more wear and tear than most of my other books, as it has some of the best info and tables for the inner sphere in the 3039-3049 era.

Though unfortunately, though the FWL is my 2nd favorite of the successor states, the handbook was drier than pretzels in the desert. The whole thing read like a civics textbook - though that's not altogether unexpected for the Free Worlds' League, and the politics seems to be their main selling point. On the other hand, I really enjoyed the Liao and Periphery handbooks, and am anxiously waiting for Handbook Kurita, as I have been for half a decade.

I can remember enough off the top of my head to get by. However, I have an extensive Battletech library & generally know where the information I need can be found. I only use the Sarn wiki to provide links.

Personally I am going to go with "I passed Inner Sphere History 101" simply beacuse while I know lore and have plenty of resouces in my book collection I don't know what is exactly cannonical and I can not recall it all very well.
