Hello everyone. Has anyone experienced an increase in their ping lately? I'm in Southeast Asia and I usually play with 200 to 250 ping. However, since the last patch, my ping jumped to 350 to 400. My ISP provider said there's nothing wrong with the network nor with my physical connection.

nope, if anything my ping is ~20 better than pre-patch
(I did load up in Vietnam last week and was getting about 280, not that that helps you now)

Yes, a big problem over here in Germany as well. Personally I have no problems, but all the people who get routed via the Tiscali network have severe problems with their pings. Even made it in the news.

Thanks for replying guys. It's good to know that I'm not the only one with problems of late.

I'm surprised no one yet came with the response: "want better ping, move to USA".
Not America, because America also includes Argentina.

:)

I had 60ms steady ping before the patch and now I'm getting 110-150ms constantly fluctuating with tons of rubberbanding and desync.

To me as European the Ping got a tad better over the last few patches for ~15 ms.

Maybe they moved the servers to europe since they have a higher concentration of players over there.

I use to average around 40 ping, I get around 75 now.

Not game breaking on my end (thank god...) but if this is universal, then thats bad news for those that already had high ping.

Could easily be that more people are playing. A LOT of people, guilds and clans crawled out of the woodwork for 8 man drops.

I hope the increased ping is only temporary. This game was hard enough to play with 200+ ping, it's a totally different level of insanity playing it with 300+.

Could be, but even right after open beta started I still managed a 60ms ping almost constantly.

I had a heightened Ping once. But after four hours I was told to go see a doctor...(ba da boom) LOL

P.S. My random CTD's have stopped though. :)

My ping is only about 15ms higher than previously during Closed Beta, but I am having many more instances of rubberbanding and randomised firing delays on weapons such as Gauss and SRMs lately.

Last night there were a couple of times where I pressed fire for my Gauss, had time to look down at my weapons display, check if it had been destroyed or run out of ammo, and only then would it actually fire. I've also had instances where either Gauss or SRMs won't fire at all despite frantic clicking , even though the weapon display shows them clear to fire and with ammo remaining.

same here. normally 50 to 60ms now around 100 to 110ms

guessing some of it was the number of players downloading patch? maybe?

Southern USA here.

Hi,

same here. As written in the "German Thread". Since Patch 1.1.155 my ping increased from 100-110 to 200-???. And I have the feeling I have packetloss from time to time. In some games I have really bad lags, but not in all.

Kind Regards

I live in Arizona and get around 80 MS.

I dont know why this is so bad? I mean, 80 ms isn't too bad, but sometimes I will be 120 ms.

I work for an ISP and am involved with the network troubleshooting/operations.

Where are the servers located? I am on an 80x10 business class connection with no other traffic passing. I get much better ping in other games.

I think the servers are in Canada. 250ms isn't bad either and I could aim ballistics just fine - could even leg jenners with my AC20. 350ms, however, is a completely different story. :)
