Are they saved to our account in some kind of cloud, or is it local only? I ask because I will be selling my system soon, and building a new one.

Its a cloud system I believe. The game just has to be installed, you sign into your account and thats it.

They must have some cloud save system. I play on two separate machines and any change that happens on one machine happens on the other when I log in.

Yes...it is an online game. Your stuff is on the server, so that you cannot **** with it.

It's on a database on their end. That's why it takes time to load your mechs and why you can't see them unless you log in.
Well, weapon groupings are saved locally though.
