So, about once an hour or so, when I get into a match, it starts looking like I'm playing from an ATARI. I can't read the text and everything is block-like. Then the countdown starts, and then everything turns black. The game hasn't crashed because I can still hear everything that is going on. If I wait long enough, the match eventually ends and goes back to the lobby... then crashes. The only solution I have is to alt+F4 out, then relaunch the game.

I have seen screen shots of this bug before, I swear it was while dropping with the 57th or the doom riders, that i ran into someone who experienced it. As I recall whoever it was took a screen shot and reported the bug. As far as I know it was a 1 time only occurrence. Is this something you have experienced multiple times?

if you continue to encounter this issue, take a print screen and file a bug report.

Did it look more like Frogger? Kaboom? Pitfall?

I remember 'combat' for the Atari 2600....not quite as good graphics as MWO, but close. Very realistic tank combat.....for the time.

Truth be told, it looks most like frogger, but my screenshots from this game always display nothing other than black pixels, so you'll just have to take my word for it that it looks like frogger and not combat.

And yes, this happens routinely. Like I said, about once an hour.

1. Your Motherboard( BioStar TH61 ITX ) is meant to be a media Mini-ITX board, Which is not for heavy gaming.
2. Because the info above, the Intel® HD Graphics Family Chipset is Not meant for Heavy gaming.

Solution: Buy a new Motherboard(Normal ATX board) and a Gaming Graphics card!

All they need is at least a dedicated graphics solution as even a mini-itx board is still capable of handling gaming such as this. They aren't much difference performance wise other than not having as high-quality components due to lower power draw, fewer expansion slots (only 1 pci-e x16 usually), and being more picky with overclocking (not in the scope of this topic).. Their main problem is the intel video chipset hands-down which is easily bypassed with a decent card installed.

@OP - Put simply, your intel chipset is what is causing the issue. Intel chipsets for video graphics solutions are notorious for being problematic and/or incompatible with many forms of gaming. Intel makes budget line video for basic needs that are essentially limited in their capabilities and are usually the source of issues such as this (either from overheating or poor driver support). The best suggestion overall is to shop around for a PCI-E graphics card that should fit your case (unsure of its' size considering you have an mITX board. Could easily get say.. an Nvidia GTX 2xx series card for around ~$100 or less used online such as a GTX260, 280, or even a GTX 295.

Take the cartridge out and blow on it. You could also swab it with a q-tip or if you're feeling adventurous; try a little bit of rubbing alcohol.

This exact issue happens to me on my gaming rig, which IS meant for games. It also happens about once an hour to all of my clan mates as well. If you do an alt-enter to vary between windowed and full-screen enough times it will come back to real graphics, but the frame rate will be about 2 FPS, so it's unplayable.

This bug has been tracked down by players as a video memory leak, where the game never clears the video RAM at the end of each round.
