I have recently started playing again, with things going open beta, to see how all the changes actually felt (I've been watching updates and keeping an eye on forums, etc. even when i wasn't playing). So, with my brief amount of playing (on a casual level, no 5 hour marathon playing or anything) things actually look pretty good.
I have some of the widespread concerns. Things like only one game mode, lack of content, yadda, yadda. But I also know that that will be addressed. So there's no reason to crow about it. That will work it's elf out naturally.
there are some things I defiantly think work out better now. For one, earning money feels pretty solid. I'm earning a premium + founders bonus, which does mean more money, but it feels about right for a "paying customer" level and I feel like the numbers I see before those bonuses are added would feel fair to me if I was playing for free. Not really a hefty income...but falls well into the "fair for free" zone.
The second big thing is that the influx of players has helped the pre-made problems. One is more likely to pop on for a quick game and go up against other PUG types. The abundance of closed beta pre-mades made "just playing a quick game" seem pretty pointless. But I feel like I can do that now.
I also lie the mechanical additions, upgraded armor and structure, etc.. I haven't been able to experiment with double heat sinks yet...there appears to be a bit of a debate on those. But I can't make and comments based on first hand experience about those just yet.

All in all, things seem to be very much on the right track. Stuff may not be happening in the order that makes everyone happy all the time. But things are defiantly improving. I'm curious if anyone else who opted out, then has come back recently have any other opinions? please share them.
