Every game I see people in trial mechs intentionally running in, suiciding, and disconnecting. This is ruining the game at the moment because this creates unfun lopsided teams. There needs to be a combinations of systems addressing this such as public statistics, trial mech locking, bigger performance reward incentives and maybe even this system: a game lasts for 5 minutes but you were online only 4 minutes then you get 80% of the credits and xp you would've gotten if you were online all 5 minutes.

Intentional suiciders is a significant drawback of the 0 cost unlimited trial mech system. The current system with its suiciders create a very low quality unengaging gaming experience.

*update* Added ideas from Noth & RiceyFighter.

Unfortunately you can't stop suicide runners with punishment without punishing some legit players. The reason the suicide runner happen is because trial mechs are so much better at making money than any non trial mech (yes even when in a premade). You can only give more incentives for not suicide rushing such as better performance bonuses and for owned mechs lower repair and rearm bills.

Yes it is unfortunate but I don't think these incentives alone would stop trial mech suiciders. Especially if you think about the newer players who don't have non trial mechs but can rapidly suicide for credits instead. A combination of incentives, public stats, along with the mentioned % award based on game time would be the best way to combat intentional suiciding in my opinion.

They will severely limit this at next patch by locking up the trial mechs in till the entire match is over. It will potentially stop most suicides, etc.

I'm not sure if this is enough. If intentionally suiciding a trial mech equals profit, then I don't see locking trial mechs to be an effective solution. The people who are currently suiciding their trial mechs will just continue doing so after the mech unlocks in 15-X mins because it is free, raw profit. I strongly believe in a combination of previously mentioned ideas in addition to locking to stop intentional suiciders.

The mech lock isn't going to stop the problem completely. It's a step in the right direction, but it will only slow the occurrence.

This really seems like more of a symptom of a broken reward system where the difference between doing well and suiciding is too little to encourage cash-seekers to pursue. People who get genuinely stomped shouldn't be pushed out of the game but there should be enough incentive that the ticket to riches is going balls to the wall all day long.

Thank you for your feedback - fortunately there is a fix enroute:

We are addressing several known issues with farming.

Trial Mech Locking
  • Trial Mechs will now work the same as any BattleMech, they are locked until the match ends. This ends the ability for a macro player to "churn" matches to maximize CB.
Quitting/Disconnecting Early - While Still Alive
  • You will only receive rewards up to the point of disconnection.
  • NOTE: If you are dead, you will receive earned rewards, plus match rewards.
Idle/AFK
  • Players that fail to provide any input will be kicked from a match Although it does not prevent a macro player from simply putting in inputs, it forces them to LOOK like a bot.
Abusing this system is considered a violation of the TOS/COC.

Cheers!
