I'm slightly confused or overwhelmed by the imagined possibilities of the eventual 'MMO Campaign and faction selection'.

How will the MMO universe work other than just the gameplay we are seeing now in open beta? Does it mean you are stuck to fighting on selective planets/maps (I'm assuming there are many -maybe hundreds of maps...well there should be okay!) depending on what faction is chosen?

If so does fighting over time result in winning/losing planets (I'm just going to call them that) so that you can move onto to conquer other worlds (receive benefits / detriments ) ?

Is the MWO universe subject to influence by the players' actions (can one destroy house Steiner for instance :) , leaving all those players to lone wolf or join another faction) or is there an overarching story with phantom characters that don't actually appear on the battlefield ( HEY! will we get a chance to take on actual big name characters?) that ultimately make all the decisions and control where one fights (a predetermined timeline)?

i know fighting in mechs and blasting each other away is fun enough, but whats the ultimate goal? (I'm hearing talk of a "meta campaign"...do i sound like i know the meaning 'meta'!)

Anyone know? (i don't)

-I used to be a Mechwarrior like you, then i took an AC/20 to the knee-
