Here's a list of credits for MW2, but it doesn't tell ya who does which voice. Anybody know which voice actor?
So, who wants to see this great legend return?! Please PGI? Pretty please? Maybe even just track the dude down and have him introduce the player to the game with some pointers? Things like "Kill the meat, save the metal?"

EDIT: Personally, I really, really, *really*, want the computer voice from the original MechWarrior 2: 31st Century Combat.
EDIT 2: What Mech is that the player is piloting? 3 MLas, 1 SRM 6, 2 tons ammo, 6/9 movement. Not ringing any bells.

QUICKLY! Cross-check the voice actor list!

Nope, not the same guy. I can at least see the similarity though.

Since a lot of players may need to scrub off the rust from not playing any MechWarrior games in ages (or are just new to the franchise) a "tutorial" type mission with Dead-Eye and Hanson's Roughriders would be pretty neat. I wouldn't make it a priority, however. Most people who pick up MW:O from the get-go will be the hardcore veterans who won't be needed a tutorial to say the least.

I always loved trying to duke it out with the trainer and seeing how long I could last. I'm not sure if you can kill him...I think you can, but since he's in a Timberwolf and you're in a Fire Moth, he's essentially unkillable with the stock load out they give you.
But I loved his insults. Funny, too, that he is the only voice you hear in the game (disregarding cutscenes).

You can kill Unther on the last mission and because he's in a catapult it's pretty easy to get a head shot. Then you go into the second contract of the game with a fully salvaged Catapult hehe

He sounds like Church/Burnie Burns. I know it's not, but he sounds quite similar. XD The attitude is pretty spot-on, too. I know a lot of the similarity (probably in both cases I've mentioned) is due to the radio-filter they use degrading voice quality and distinctness a little.
"Now you wouldn't even think of upsetting me in my home, would you? Of course you wouldn't. So do what I say, when I say, and I won't get upset. I do baaaaad things when I'm upset."
"Line up those indicators, scrub." "Good work, wet nose." "You drive like a freebirth, cadet."
/giggles madly I love this guy.

According to IMDB:

And here's two fun quotes:
http://www.imdb.com/...t0356877/quotes
You have fired on and hit the wrong target. I can't tell if you are intentionly provoking my anger or if you're "simply stupid"! Intentionally provoking my anger would undoubtedly result in some kind of hemorrhaging on your part. Therefore, the only conclusion I can come to, is that you are "simply stupid"! Leave my training course, whelp!
Some interesting tid-bits about the computer voice actor:
Her name is Carole Ruggier
http://thegaminglibe...carole-ruggier/
Quote
Carole- Getting that job was a happy accident. I knew nothing about the game and I just was recording my lines by myself in the booth. I didn’t know anyone else in the cast and probably only saw images after the fact. I’d had a little experience in a recording booth but more singing than v.o. I remember, long lists of cues and being extremely focussed on maintaining tone and rhythm as, *******’ Betty, was a computer. I was also doing an American dialect. I had a blast!

Awesome to know that she's moved on to do some pretty awesome stuff. My computer will always boot to "Reactor online, sensors online...."

Maybe at some point a mod team or...some kind of monetary incentive will push them to do it or allow it to be built on their engine. We can only hope.
The only problem with MWO is that (likely) I won't be able to pop it in my computer in 20 years and relive it like we can with MW2. I really hope they do at least something, because it's honestly fantastic to be able to go back and play through what was basically my childhood--I can only assume the same feelings will relate to this game when I'm in my 40's or 50's

It's the COM-7X Commando, it's not a canon variant that I'm aware of. That being said, it should be, because it was actually quite good.

In accordance to BT fluff, everything with X behind tends to be experimental like the ZEU-X (Zeus eXperimental) and ANH-2AX (Annihilator eXperimental), so maybe a possible cash shop goodie for those who want their COM to have more energy than missile slots.... Or just a trip down memory lane.

Don't even need the actual -7X actually, just the Lyran COM-1B. If memory serves correctly, the -1B has a LL in the left arm, ML in the right, and an SRM2 in the CT. Drop the LL for a pair of mediums, Drop the SRM2 for a 6, and voila.
