Putting in a training match would be a tremendous help to all players especially new players. Think of it your new to the game you see a big ol button that says training match you click it and load into a map that is a target range with some moving targets some obsticles and some stationary targets it's about 600 m by 600 m max 8 players in the match at a time (multiple matches going on) 15 min timmer based on only you personally the match it's self never ends. Oh best part they could add a mentor feature like a experianced player that is inbetween matches could join as a moderator mech to help coach.(ok that isn't part of the main idea my brain just went there) Having a tool such as this for plp to get used to pioleting skills would go a long way towards making it a better experiance for the new player. Did i mention you would beable to test your personal mechs weapons in this area.

They desperately need a tutorial. This game isnt exactly easy to pick up fast, and a lot of people dont look at video's.

This game needs pve. There won't always be so many willing live targets in trials as when the game is new.

sorry shameless bump time but this is a idea that would be easy to implement , would help new players and give a place to test your mech. I can't see a downside to it.

i really hope a dev or moderator sees this thread i don't think there is a argument to be made against this idea and the amount of good will this would acomplish would go a long way.

Excellent idea.
It would also allow both individuals and groups to develop plans for different maps, as well as allow players to find out how they work on individual maps - for example, how some hills are passable and others are not.

There is a tutorial video btw made by the guys who did No Guts No Galaxy. It's not bad, gives you the basics quickly. And they did say there would be "training" mode similar to world of tanks, but not till after game launch.

i am aware they are planing on putting a training area in that will be all fancy and i can't wait for that it will be a very useful tool. I am saying untill then put in a dirt floor square box with 4 stationary targets 4 moving targets (on a oval track) and a few big blocks you can use as hiding spots. Doesn't even matter if your mech would be full resolution or if any of the cool effects were added to the weapons keep it very simple for now but put it in asap then you can improve it later.

Training mode aka Trial Mechs. No Ammo costs, No repair Bill.

to somebody that has played a mechwarrior game you are correct but to a person new to it your idea of training mode is more of a lets frustrate the new plp and vets. Only plp that want easy kills like this way of doing it. Personally i love the 8/7 matches it's alot more fun and it makes the win all that better 8/0 stomp feels cheap and not even worth doing. If i'm translating the minimal response you gave correctly you wouldn't even want to test your builds in a safe zone before finding out incombat that they may suck or may not. I really don't think i'm alone in thinking the target range i'm purposing would become a extremely valuable tool to everyone.
