Endo and DHS are good choices for a HBK - you should almost definately get them.
Upgrade your engine as soon as you can. Changing to DHS and Endo will give you more free weight, so you can get a larger (preferably 250 or 260) engine.
You should do much better brawling with a faster mech - it keeps you alive much longer. Just learn to watch your heat as well.

I removed all the guns... put the small lasers in torso and head like said and pulse on the arms, as for boosting armour? i have like no tonnage left?? i have 40 on each leg.. and it says to drop a ton or 2 from the legs... but to get that much off im down to below 20 on each leg??? as for stuffing Heatsinks in the sides... i got 1 in before maxing my tonnage out.. :0(
Its my first time in the mech lab so please excuse me if im missing something obvoius...
A step buy step account of what i should add / remove would be really great..
saving to buy a jenner atm as a second mech / engine donor

You sure you mounted seven Small Lasers and not seven Small Pulse Lasers? That'd definitely bring you up short.
As I noted in my build, the -4P with a full load of pew-pew doesn't lend well to Endo or XL engines because you want all the critical space you can get for DHS. Think of every double sink you cram in there as a quantitative increase in damage (if you could fire your Laserzooka four times before overheat, and adding two DHS lets you shoot it five times, neh?)
Tenet of the Laserzooka:
Have discipline. Save your arm lasers for targets past 180m, despite every want to alpha them. Inside the effective range, your Laserzooka is focused, pinpoint damage with maximum heat efficiency and refire rate. Stay focused on your Torso reticle and your range reading on target.
Hence my selection of ER Large for the arms. To me, engagements past 180m are entirely separate from engagements inside of 180m. Having your longer range weapons take advantage of your high heat dissipation is ideal, and they also give an equally strong punch when you wanna snipe ears off of catapults or the right arm off of Wangs.
It is dastardly effective to snipe the arms off mechs while they try to close with you, and this deceives them into thinking long range is your specialty; a mad folly to make against the Laserzooka.

No Endo, just DHS. Also, sell the Std 200 engine. Too slow for anything other than Commando...and too heavy for Commando.

Looks like Its 5 ton or so heavier than the 200 standard
I need to get DHS to get it to squeeze in?
More money! Lol

I was able to fix a 245 without DHS. It was one of my intermediate designs I had as I was working my way up to developing my current build on my own. It requires endo though, and you'll have to undo that before you go to your final build since you want standard internals for that. So it's probably not worth the expense since you'll be undoing it later.
I don't have access to the mechbay app at the moment, so I can't come up with a reasonable intermediate build so you could use the mech well. If anything, maybe just try the energy loadout that's been suggested and cram as many heatsinks as you can and just get a feel for the beamboat. You may just have to be more cautious since you don't have the mobility yet.

Yup, you need the DHS! I have the Jenner engie and DHS and it slides right in (not even using Endo). Also, the bigger engine will give you more "true" DHSs (internal engine DHSs give the full 2.0 buff while added ones give "only" 1.4). It is a great mech and worth the investment!

Couldn't you drop an external HS, and pick up a 250 which would have an extra engine HS? ...or is that 1 HS/"25" engine thing no longer how engine heat sinks work?
The 245 came for free with my Jenner, so that was more why I used it. Likewise, the 260 I run now came from one of my Cats that I don't run as often (I have 3 Cats).

Glad it worked out for you! The Ghetto Delight is still one of my favourite mechs, really great times in it.

Yeah, it's 18 DHS (10 engine + 8) for the 2 ML and 7 SL build. If you scroll up a few posts I have my full build with 47 on each leg.
