I hate to compare MWO's interface to LOL's, but being a free-to-play game I feel the comparison could solve some major problems with this game.
Reconnect
I understand that game stability is both an issue and a priority for Piranha. But even if the game were as stable as Piranha would like it to be, this is still needed.
Unbalanced Teams
I don't see any reason why this should happen. Ever. Put players searching for a match into a pool, pick eight out, then start the match. Don't just start the match because you don't want to keep people waiting, that's the whole point of a player pool. There should be no reason for a match starting with less than 16 players.
Another suggestion (although I believe it would be harder to implement) would be to put players into a timed pregame roster, with chat function. This would let players coordinate their mech choices and strategies before the match begins.
AFK Players
I like the upcoming changes that target C-bill farming, and will be glad to see more in the future. It would be nice to see some simple features that would help prevent incidental AFK players from ruining a game. Having a player confirm when a match is found would help prevent AFK's resulting from people walking away from their computer during queue, without resorting to punishment due to forgetfulness.
Another suggestion (once again, probably harder to implement) would be a simple reporting system for players who AFK/ragequit. Preferably with a small record of their contributions during the match, to prevent abuse.


Not Just Another Matchmaking Suggestion.
