So I bought my first mech. A Hunchback HBK-4SP. It has 2 missle slots. The default loadout has the missle ammo in the center torso. Is this a bad idea? My thoughts:

1. Keeping them in the center torso increases the chance they will explode and damage my engine and kill me. On the other hand, if my CT armor is destroyed, I will probably die anyway.

2. I could put the ammo in the same location as the weapon. After all, if the weapon is destroyed, there is no use for ammo for that weapon, so no big loss.

Thoughts? Comments? What gear do you guys put in the center torso slots?

i put ammo in my head or legs because my main is a Commando with a center hardpoint. But if your mech has no weapon hardpoint in the center, by all means put ammo there.
if your head or center is destroyed you're dead anyways so ammo explosions are a moot point. if your legs are shot out you will be dead very soon aferwards so an ammo explosion there just speeds up the process a little. If you have an XL engine youre dead when your side torso goes so ammo could be stored there as well. Personally i avoid the arms and sides because i notice they get shot out a lot more often than my center.

The torso with the weapons is a good place, if you add CASE to it. If you don't plan to invest on that half ton, Legs, Center Torso or Head are good places for ammo.

People rarely aim for a Hunchbacks legs, so theirs a good spot if you didn't want to splurge for CASE and put it in your side torsos.

Yes, please tell me where you keep your ammo without also getting C.A.S.E. If I see you in a match, I know exactly what to aim for... Honestly, put ammo wherever you see fit - and DON'T TELL A SOUL! I would HIGHLY recommend that you install C.A.S.E. in the same compartment as a Guas Rifle and not the Gaus Rifle ammo, as it can be a life savior.

If you don't plan on abusing Heatsinks being more efficient in water, then put ammo in the legs. You'll get legged maybe one out of a hundred games. Also you can reduce leg armor by a ton or so usually since no one really goes for them in general.

If it's just 1 ton of ammo put it in your head. If you get headshot you're dead anyway.
