Description:
A player remained stuck in a black screen twice while loading in a match. After the match ended, the player was returned to the Mech Lab without any issue

Steps to Reproduce:
1- Search for a match
2- Load in a match
3- Notice you may remain stuck in a black screen

Workaround:
Ctrl-Alt-Del to open Task Manager, close the game, boot game again.

Still an issue, would also like to add that while Alt Tabbing might restore some visibility in game, it won't restore much if anything useful, and definitely won't prevent the issue from happening again and will more often then not cause it to occur in the next match until you close the client.

"workaround" still ends you as a useless component of a team and a mech that can't be repurposed until the match is over...

What my squad does is guide them into our base and use them as an emergency capture preventor (our blackscreens allow us to retain controls and sounds feedback, but no visual)

Got the same problem after today update, launching a match, get loading map, black screen and home page again.

Update: it fixed with client reinstall.

I do not have this issue exactly. My screen never turns black, but i CTD instantly and MWO shutsdown. I guess this is another bug. I will report when i get home.
Could someone direct me to the ticket system? (I can't seem to find anything lately on the site.)

Edit: The above is usually with Catapult builds. Also my mech never makes it in the game (e.g. it is not locked in mechbay).

Sometimes pressing Alt+Enter multiple times to exit/enter fullscreen solves the problem, but most of the times I need to reboot.

This is the last time i play this beta. with every patch, there are more new problems then solved ones. unplayable since the last patch. there is no more fun in this game......only frustration. sorry guys.....i dont think that theya are able to fix this game in a way whre it is no more frustration.

+1 same problem. Launch the game, then black screen, then back to main screen and can launch the game again, so my mech is not in the game. Tested alone and in 4 players team. My team loads without me. Does not matter whether it trial or my own mech.
I am not able to play at all due to this issue.

I've got this exact issue. Press launch, screen goes to loading, goes black, back to mechlab with the mech not being in game.

Just had it a couple of games ago. All I did was hit escape and the exit stuff came up, exited back to lab, mech was ready to go for next game.

i haven't had the 'blank screen' but i've had the game crash on more than one occasion during the same situation effectively locking my system. hard boot was the only fix.

I generally run my game in fullscreen mode. Tabbing out did not fix the issue. Force in and out of full screen (ALT+Enter) had no effect. I closed the game and restarted.

I get this on every single launched mission since the patch. In the last patch this only occured very ocasionally.

Tabbing out has no effect.

manifests as -

Launch mission.
graphics mode switches to new resilution. screen goes black.
screen stays black for around 20 seconds
i then get returned to mech lab and can try and launch again.
40 tries no mission connected successfully - cant play at all.


Ill try a full client reinstall when i have the time.

I have a different black screen. I cant do anything and I don't hear anything in the game. My lance mates have the other where you can listen and walk, etc.

This has happened to me twice since the patch.
So far only when loading Caustic Valley.
Teammates have reported seeing me still listed as in game and that my 'mech is on the battlefield.

I had that problem during my first matches, then I found out that it never happened in the first or second match I entered after launching the client. Now I only do two matches in a row and then close (which now works thankfully *g* without the taskmanager *g*) and restart the client. Never happened to me again so far. I think the game crashes to desktop more often than before the patch though.

I often get a little extra wait than normal since the last patch, but not got stuck yet!
