That's strange. I'm having the slow-downs on the snow version only, the regular one runs just fine for me. ;)

well on my weak rig (E6600+HD2900XT), i have constant stuttering on that map. with my main rig (i7 2600k+HD 6970) don't stutters but gets a not so good framerate.

i really hate the stuttering when playing with the other rig (since the other maps don't stutter).

I'm experiencing the same problem when I'm running MWO with "Very High" video settings. With "Low" settings it works decently.

All videos set as hidden and they are not listed in youtube.

Me and many others are still consistently experiencing drastically reduced performance in forest colony (love the ship though). Forest colony alternate and all other maps are unaffected.

Is there are a workaround for this? It's getting to the point that I can't have a good round in forest colony and groan every time I join a game there.

I completely agree, would it be possible to remove the forest colony from the map rotation, dropping down to 5 frames gets a tad rough when all other maps seem fine.

I should point out it seems more... consistently bad since the patch. I would not be sad to see it go anymore, its nigh impossible to play there.

works rubbish for me too. Get a good game out of every other map, I have more than two enemies show up at once on forest colony and it slideshows.

Feels like every loading screen is a gamble, hoping not to get it.

Agreed, it is specific of that map, the alternate version seems to not be affected. It seems also to trigger texture artifacts for me (stripes on mechs, permanent hit textures and other weirdness).

Yeah this too, I get weird hit textures there.

Watching my GPU utilization I believe it correlates with the memory leak. I'm not too quick to blame my own system because I've seen posts about other people with better hardware having the same issue.

When turning away from the center of Caustic my utilization jumps back up as does my fps. I honestly don't have anything constructive to add. It's just my observation that they're related and tend to only happen on those specific maps. Come to think of it; there's a certain section near one of the bases in Frozen that exhibits the same fps plummet. I haven't looked at my utilization there but the rest of the map is just fine. It's typically just north of the base that has two cave entrances nearby.

Forest Colony always was a FPS hog on my machine since i joined closed beta.

It has never gotten better.
The funny thing is, same as for the thread starter, Winter Forest Colony runs perfectly fine.

Those are my experiences as well. I get swings from 20-60fps largely based on the direction I look. When my fps drop so does my GPU utilization. VRAM hovers around 1GB (out of 2GB). My highest CPU core tops out around 80% load. System memory doesn't go above 3GB (out of 4GB).

this is actually a pretty common issue, lots of users have it and its been around since 3.4 was introduced I do not think its going away anytime soon.

This is not the issue described in the OP.  The issue being discussed in this topic manifests when the FPS counter gets locked at 4.0 when rendering in a certain direction, yet rendering rates return to normal when the FOV is turned away.

just chiming in. have had this and its alternate form the epileptic flashing block graphics mode myself. just went to the latest yaros custom config in the repost of the custom user.cfg thread, and so far, managed 16 consecutive matches without client restart being required, whereas previous it would occur between 6 and 10 matches in.

not an elimination until more testing, but at least in my case, a significant extension of time before a failure occurs.

will be promoting this around with some people as i can over the next few days and see what the collective results are. if they prove to stop it for many, it'll be time to compare yaros old pre-open custom config with the new one from a day ago, and start testing individual variables that differ to see if its just one setting that is making the difference.

Every time I get it, it ALWAYS seems to be related to looking at/near the static smoke plumes on the map, I assume there's some sort of memory leak on the particle effects there.

I have an amd 965 x2 Quad Core 3.40 ghz
12 Gigs or Ram
Nvida 560 Ti Hawk

I used the MSI somthing or other to see how much of my cpu the game was using at MAX it was using 50 percent of my GPU and 800 megs of its memory but I was only getting 30fps .. Yes I know that doesnt sound all that bad since I never get the FPS bug that drops me to 1or 2 fps and I do not get random crashes. I'm more so asking whats causing this game to not function at 60 FPS? it is my CPU? is it bad Game play optimization in MWO? Or does the game just not like the 560 Ti hawk, or am I not doing somthing correct in my NVIDIA profile?

IF its bad optimization in the game or the game specificalyl hates my graphics card cool let me know I shant ask again.

If its somthing I can change in my NVIDIA profile or my user config file please let me know I know someone has to be playing this game at 60 FPS stable at all times. Oh I run the game at 1920x1080 all settings low.

If anyone knows any Nvidia profile things I should have on instead of off please do tell. Thanks.

hello .. it's just a bad game optimisation ...

i have some week before a GTX560 and i do 30 fps too

i have now a GTX680 and i have too 30 fps

so just waiting they fix the game.
