So far there have been alot of threads on streaks and how they are useless now, but not any that really suggest a fix for it. What I am wondering is, how hard would it be to make the missiles target whatever section on the mech the reticle is aiming at? If you are aiming legs, they hit the legs. If you are aiming torso or whatever, they target that region. If you fire and you are not aiming anywhere on the enemy mech then it can just randomly hit wherever. I think this would be the best thing all around, its very hard to keep the reticle on any given location on a moving target (like using lasers do). I agree that they needed to fix the constant CT targeting but now streaks are practically useless and expensive. I think this method of targeting would be the most balanced. Opinions?

its not so much that they are useless now, its just that AMS will shoot down SSRM now, which makes them useless against mechs that have an AMS (most).

Well I think next patch (or one in the future)will address this. I don't know if your idea will be a good fix. Better yes, but not sure if it is the right one. We should try it and see though.

If I pilot a streakboat now, easily 33 percent of the missiles will totally miss on a given target. And circling around dueling a fast mech theres is even more than 33 percent that miss totally. I have noticed AMS shooting down missiles too, so it seems to me that they have fixed one thing and created more problems by doing so.

AMS shoots down normal SRMs as well. I have SRMs on my atlas (I used to have streaks prior to OB) and last night I could've sworn I saw AMS shooting a few SRMs down.
