Where's my money?

I just logged on and played a great game, only to see that the only C bills I had were the 93K that I won in that match!
That is seriously not cool, grinding it out in a no-XP trial mech for a third time to get a non-trial mech fails. Why was my Open Beta reset money confiscated?

There was exactly one start of Open Beta and one final reset: Last Monday, the 29th.
If you played after the servers came up on the 29th (~3pm PDT) and now are missing something, contact support.

What was the point of giving us any sort of "refund" on our C-Bills if we were going to go right back to zero only a few days later?
This brutal experience has reminded me just how lacking the trial mechs are. I'd almost forgotten.

This experience should tell you to:
1) Read the forums when you're in a beta
2) Never do another beta again

That reset was supposed to fix a mechlab bug. They refunded the full amount for all your mechs that you had at the time. The second reset was the one on the 29th of October. That reset everything for everyone.

My guess is that they had no intention of going Open Beta at that point (the last patch). It was very sudden and smelled of someone in charge of the purse strings deciding it was time.

That reset left me with no where near enough money to purchase even the cheapest Commando, and I had purchased the most expensive Commando variant.
So I got screwed, that's what you're telling me? That's what I thought.
Oh well, eventually I'll remember how to use the trial mechs again...

In Closed Beta, you were testing the game for PGI. Any fun you got out of it was a bonus, but not the main objective. If you feel like you got screwed, stay away from Closed Alphas and Closed Betas in the future, because nothing will ever be set in stone, so to speak, while a game is in a closed testing phase.

It's a wonder that the starting grind even exists. It denies one of the biggest attractions to the mechwarrior games for such a long boring slog- the mechlab. It's a sure-fire way to turn away newbies who probably don't even know there is customization.

People who whine about something that $7 makes go away amuse me.
If you don't want to pay a dime to play the game, you spend the time. PGI isn't a charity.

There might be better ways to hook new players, etc...but I can't say I disagree with this post. How long does it take to make $7 at work?

The 2 rapid (almost back-to-back) resets, both of which took away what I'd worked for are what frustrate me here. If it had been one reset or there'd been more than a few days between resets things would be different. If I'd gotten the beaucoup of cash after the first reset (ie:not gotten screwed) I wouldn't have minded the 2nd one so much.
So now I know that the money is indeed supposed to be gone and that I was indeed screwed during the last reset before the beta reset. FWIW.

I'll have to play the game some more before I decide if I'm ready to invest some cash into it. So I'll be sampling this free-to-play title gratis for a bit longer. Right now it is tempting to throw down your advocated "7 bucks" to gain back the Commando as I was performing far better in it than in the trial mechs but I don't think that throwing down cash hot on the heels of these resets is something that will be truly beneficial.
