Ok, I'm going to be the one to ask this, who determines who gets to be in the open beta? Isn't the point of the beta to let a few people in to test it, then set loose everyone else a few weeks/months later? And since it will be free to play, we are back to the first question.

Intense battles rage across the PGI studios

Cheers,
Garth

Look at the back of those computer cases. All of the video card outputs look to be single slot, without even an extra slot for a cooling vent. That fact lowers the threshold of what those beta rigs are running for graphics.

Congrats on your milestone PGI team! And please note that Connecticut is not part of Boston and actually im living outside of the normal Bruin's fanbase and therefore totally still eligible for closed beta!

Open beta is obviously open to everyone who has registered on on the forums. However closed beta is next, that is the one that only select people will be invited to so that they may test the game. All i have seen Paul say is that they do have a few specific people in mind although granted this is Paul so the possibility of trolling is always there. Other than that, it is typically random but the only way to know for sure is to wait and see.

closed beta is the limited inclusion via a bid in/invite only thing, wile the open beta is.. open, free to anyone interested and is pretty much the games official launch

the looks of intense concentration throw me. I have a very judgmental significant other and I just don't need another game where I hunch over the screen in a "constipated manner" that guy on the end of the row in the front knows what I'm talking about.

excellent and mucho congrats to the team. Though on the vid the dude in the red shirt was clipping along really quickly. Looked like he was in a Jenner or a Hunchback. Also congrats to all the lucky participants color me jealous and envious. Though I do take comfort in the fact that beta is coming and the Vaporware Crybabies are starting to realize it's time to get the game faces on and strap on the neurohelms.

Part of me wants you to hurry so I don't have to slum it with MW:LL.

The rest of me wants you to take your time and get it spot on!

Dilemma!
