UH NO. I say YES PvE. Why? Simple. I have had some seriously EFFED up experiences in PvP. My very first comes to mind on WoW. I was like 2 weeks into the game and accidently turned my flag on. Some level 60 <yes, I started PRE Burning Crusades> Horde players saw me and killed me on a PvE server simply because I was red to them. I say making a game PURE PvP is evil and wrong. A game MUST have some PvE in it imho. IF you want to ONLY PvP thats your bag, not mine. Its why I dont play BF3 24/7/365. PvP is fun, but, can be soooooooo abused by ppl who spawn camp or corpse camp or who just stand there and refuse to be of any use to the team and so forth. Besides, the game HAS PvE built in. Want proof? Use the terrain to block line of sight. In a way PvE XD yes, loose example. Also, we will see the clans invade us, and at first, they WILL be NPC unless PGI makes it so we can start as clans, which means PvE in its TRUE form.

Like counter-strike, right? That needs some PvE, you should talk to valve about the new Counter-Strike Global Offensive and explain that to them.
Also yeah, when you turn on pvp that means "pvp me" on a pve server. But I'm pretty sure in MWO you're not going to run around doing little quests to kill 10 wolves that the mean clanners can gank you while you're doing.

Loose example? More like BAD example. That's like saying that pillar humping in WoW's arena is PvE. I can't even believe you would suggest that is pve.
Have you even played previous Mechwarrior games? It's not like we're all going to be sitting around in Ironforge in our mechs when the clans invade. The 'PvE' in mechwarrior has been single player campaigns, which there is none for MWO.

Dude, you are either trying to troll me or are missing a huge part of what I was trying to effing say. For civility, I shall wager on the latter. If you want to "Ridgeline" yourself, have at it. But, I sure as hel* am planning on using as much cover as I can to conceal myself for as long as possible until the moment comes for me to step out from behind my cover and level my ERPPCS and Heavy Gauss Rifles on your mech and tear your cockpit off your shoulders. And for the RECORD my history in MW/BT is this: Mechwarrior 2, Mechwarrior 2 Ghost Bears Legacy, MechWarrior 2 Mercenaries, MechWarrior 3, Mechwarrior 3 Mercenaries, Mechwarrior 4 Vengeance, Mechwarrior 4 Mercenaries, Battle Tech TCG/CCG. I am by no means new to this franchise. and when I DID MP in MW4M I used cover as much as I could. On WoW in PvP I used cover and sent my demon out to hunt you down, distract you and then go nuclear on you with my ex gf pumping tons of heals into me as you died by my hellfire. I used to Play Americas Army Operations and when I did that games SF quals, I learned alot about the bonus to using concealment. Hell ask any sniper IRL about using cover to get the job done.

I saw it all the time in combat arms (and i have had 2 accounts now that got shut down because of people calling me a hacker. not my fault that i'm decent and they suck. my KDR was only a .8 when these people who are calling each others hackers have like a .15 KDR.)
In all the previous mechwarrior games that I have played even in single player I used cover if I could especially when there were multiple enemies. Somehow I feel like motionless is going to die. alot. and possibly fast.

Yeah, and do you know what your penalty for death was? A run back to your body and res! Oh no! How terrible -- truly a fate worse than death.
The fact is that you're mad over people engaging IN THE GAME. It's like crying when someone takes out a piece of yours in chess!
And if you are suppose to be from Clan Wolf, may I suggest not setting your Allegiance icon to Kurita.

Okay, so can you understand how using cover against other players isn't pve? Standing behind a hill so someone can't shoot you until you close distance is not 'pve.'

My assumption all along has been that PvE would exist in this game, so I was surprised by this question and decided to give it a click to see what was said within. I've now read the FAQ; multiplayer only. That is a huge disappointment for me. I am a veteran of playing games online and playing against people on the Internet (as opposed to just my friends) really sucks.
If it's PvP only, I'm out.

I'm sorry you were ganked by the horde, I too played in Vanilla WoW. But as the term was used in the old Star Wars Galaxies MMO, "Red is dead" you were fair game. This is a game of war and thus all about teamwork and taking out the other forces. PvE is limited, NPC's have a set movement and abilities that can be patterned. It would be far more of a challenge to not only out skill the opponet, but to also out think him/her as well. As that person plays his/her play style changes with experence as yours would, making every encounter vastly different as time passes.
Wouldn't you prefer to be challenged which will improve you as a player, or just coast through learning little about your true abilities.

Any single player content is a stretch goal well beyond launch.
