this thread is full of win! Thanks shorpainter for sharing. Love your marauder and archer concepts, and a lot of other great mechs to boot!

Bump.
Again love the work.
Would love to see the the AC back on Top. Though I wonder how they would do it in MWO as you could not fit a ballistic slot in the center torso to hold an AC5; I would immediately rip out and put a Guass rifle.

edit : give credit where its due.

any word from the devs?
How in this world could HG ever sue them if they use a Marauder depiction like this?

Everuthing is probably the best mech artwork i have ever seen. The Marauders AC-5 needs to have more balls like everything else.

The goal of my project was to prove that any mech can look cool. It all started because some of my friends would not play with certain mechs in table top games because "they don't look cool". I wanted to show people that when I flipped through a TRO, I saw much more than what was on the page. My friend challenged me to re-design or update all the mechs in the 3025 TRO. Of course, mechs like the Vulcan and Quickdraw were the first ones I was told to tackle. So I did it, we had good times geeking out on mech semantics. The Phoenix Hawk and Crusader were re-designed before the phoenix project came out. Many people are bothered by the whole lawsuit situation with the unseen mechs. I tried my hand at re-designing the unseens but still keeping the overall shape of the original. I did make a locust that looked like a walking apache attack helicopter, I'm trying to find it. Some of these drawings go back eight years or so.

When dreams were young..
Fantastic designs SP, personally if it doesn't have boobies I struggle to draw it well. These are outstanding, love the combination of clean manga style without the excessive rounding often common in the genre.
All time fav is the Panther, I adore that mech so it really speaks to me. The Archer is inspired and fantastically original, as are the Locust and Stinger. Love all the others too, but those have completely reset my image of the chassis in question.
You clearly love your subject, that really shows, and as long as we have diehard visionaries like yourself championing all that is BT it will never die.
