Why not just adjust the prices for both and get rid of the Free Repair and Rearm? It never made any sense to me that we get so much done for free then have to pay for the rest at HIGH prices.. Why not just pay for it all our selves and tweek the costs down ?

Unless I am way off base, most of the items in game are book value to replace. Meaning, armor actually costs that much. Some things were tweaked for development reasons, like making them less attractive.

People never dealt with this in tabletop because they rarely played RPG campaigns where cost was a thing. If they did, they likely played as house forces. Repair time was a thing, but cost was not a factor.

I've never thought repairs should be optional, or that we should get 75% armor and ammo free. PGI said we'd get 25% repairs. I thought that meant the whole mech, and I would never run a mech on that little. Instead, it is 25% on ITEMS, which generally break in one hit anyway and do not function less when damaged. I lose nothing but a bit of armor by never repairing.

Generally, I am not lamenting going into battle with damage already. Either we win big, or we lose big. I'm usually not the deciding factor. I usually pull my own weight too, with or without full armor. Until repairs become mandatory, and I am clearly hindering my team, I'm going to get the free cash.
