so double heat sinks were nerfed ... pretty harshly, to the point where it is now physically impossible for dbheat sink assault mechs to be as heat efficient as regular heat sink assault
mechs

in case you don't know if you want to use both double heat sinks AND not have 20 tons of unused weight in an assault mech, the highest number of double heat sinks you can fit is around 20 - 22
including ones in the engine.

or about 28 - 28.8 regular heat sinks worth.
where as with regular heat sinks you can get upwards of 36 heat sinks.

in short this heat sink change has once again nerfed assault mechs and left the light mechs nearly untouched.

wana use more than 3 large lasers? well the devs say too freaking bad , you should have gotten that lrm atlas / awesome instead of that piece of **** laser mech.

changing things that completely destroy builds and waste 40 million cbills is fine since its a beta, but you damn well better refund my money / cbills when you do it.

now i am stuck with 3 dysfunctional atlas setups and 200k cbs and no real way out besides selling or using the atrocious trial mechs or my gimped to hell atlases .

you cant expect us to keep investing in your economy if you keep on undermining it with these massive balance changes with out some sort of reset button.

at this point im in a rutt, i have no motivation to get out of it , im not going to farm for another 40 million cbills , im not gona pay for another 40 million cbills.

so im out till you guys say your done ******* with the core weapons and mech balance and refund EVERYONES cbills.

good luck everyone who didnt get screwed over.

Change the double heat sinks to only occupy 2 slots instead of 3 would make them more useable, specially in the legs ><

Strongly agree. If they're going to leave DHS at <1.5 they should take up only 2 slots. Logic what a concept.

Clan DHS already take up the 2 slot position. Having the regular ones do so aswell breaks the lore and makes unnecessary changes. I think the better change is to just give higher ton mechs more critical slots. I play only light and medium and I think it is a bit sad that the heavier class mechs are a bit gimped in this fashion.

Your math is off. 20 DHS is equal to 28; 22 DHS is equal to 30.8. Yeah, I guess if you NEED those extra five sinks, you can pay through the nose in tonnage and crit slots for singles.

DHS are not as good, everyone admits this. They are 'good enough' for most builds with the Basic/Elite xp boosts. Yeah, those buffs are already running on singles, but you get more out of the double.

Eventually they will do something to specifically crutch up assault pilots, like a special pilot skill maybe. I can't see them lowering heat on large weapons across the board, since then smaller mechs could just take them instead of mediums.

In the meantime, try to build the best mech you can instead of creating new threads. Or, run the mech you want and overheat constantly. They collect data from playtime.

Double heatsink nerf was pointless and totally uncalled for. Right now that are not a viable alternative to normal heatsinks at all...
