planning on spending the equivalent that I would for a pay to play. Meaning near $20 a month. Or $240 a year, I want every mech in the hangar or special mech bay and I wants me a drop ship with aerospace fighters giving me CAP over a hot LZ. I will not be spending my money on pink paint, spinning hubcaps or other useless drivel. $$$$ for unit decals, $$$$ for tshirts, $$$$ for special voicepak for who is talking to me in my mech, $$$$ for voip that has electronic interference as part of the info game, $$$$ for more mechs, more, more, more

I withheld my vote because I have no idea what's even for sale. It could be a little, or it could be a lot.

OP, one thing to consider in your question is time; are you asking about our initial lump of cash sent to the devs, or the amount we expect to spend over time? Over the course of time, I have little doubt that I will end up spending over $100 on this game.

I currently spend 30 dollars per month on EVE Online, and another 10 on World of Tanks, plus another 60 bucks reserve gaming budget, in case a new game comes out that is so awesome I can't wait for the price to drop.

I also want this game to do extremely well, for several reasons, one of which is the fact that it's the best chance we have for a Battletech revival. As a result, I have no qualms about spending a significant portion of my gaming budget on MWO for the foreseeable future.

It is. But if they can't afford server costs we can't play at all can we?

A subscription fee would help in that case. :D

i will wait to see how well the game is designed, and how fun it is. i went from spending 60 bucks a month to 15 for online games, so they'll get my wow money at least if it's good enough.

Basically, it's hard to tell how much to spend on the game, considering we don't know what money will go towards, exactly. Having said that, if the game mirrors other free to play games, and actual money just makes the game more convenient (like in LoL, where you can buy champs, rune pages and skins for money; nothing that directly effects gameplay), then sure, I'll buy an extra mech-bay or something. Custom paint jobs cost actual cash? Sure! Why not? What's that? They released the Orion for either a bucketload of in-game Cbills, or $5 real dollars? Groovy!

it all goes back to the Devs, so I'll probably be something of a free-spender, but without a price guide for what to buy and for how much, I have no idea how much I'll end up actually spending.

For an advantage, I'd pay well. For more content, I'd pay well. For extra 'Mechs, I'd pay well. For neat gun effects, I would also pay. For skins, again, I'd pay.

Basically, I'd pay for a lot of stuff. But again, I'm extremely selective over what I buy and when. If you expect me to pay 40 bucks for a new 'Mech, I might, but you best not put a time limit on it. I only buy things when I'm well off.

I really loved APB, premium for 1 month, 10 bucks, then some additional stuff another 10.

How much I spend is going to depend on how it is used in game. I would gladly donate anyway for server upkeep so the game keeps going in realtime years so that we can experience a healthy amount of the persistant storyline and live out many of our favourite battles from series canon. I don't want to create a pay to win situation but some sort of minor tactical advantage would be nice. I would probably spend a bit for some customization or skinning options so my mech is unique on the battlefield and the enemy has no doubt whom just ruined their day lol
