What do you think the odds are that when they re-implement knockdowns, they'll also implement DFA (or at least have laid the groundwork for it in the near future)?

On another topic:

Are Streaks really that bad off?

The way the devs described their desired nerf to streaks sounded HORRIBLE (randomly targetting parts of the body), and the way people are describing the undocumented nerf was likewise horrible.

However, in-game, while I have noticed a lot fewer people using streaks, the streaks always seemed to target the center torso, just like before (although I noticed a commando at slas range fire 3x SSRM2s at a STATIONARY catapult that was facing it.... and miss with some of the shots. I'm sorry, I understand blah blah lost technology, blah blah, but I'm pretty sure we had figured out how to make projectiles fly more or less straight over distances of 100 or so meters by... wow, I was going to use a specific date, but... hell, I guess it'd be around the time of the invention of fletching? Or the refinement thereof? Or... errr (NERD MODE DEACTIVATE).

ANYWAY....

Will TAG help Streaks now? Did it ever?

Will Narc help Streaks now? Did it ever?

Should Artemis affect Streaks, given the changes?

No, tag/etc do not help streaks.

I can see them not all hit CT, but I shot one ssrm2 at point blank range and seen 1 miss to the right side and the other miss to the left side. There something worng with it now.

Are you sure? Narc and TAG help with lock on times, and I was asking if artemis SHOULD help, not if it currenly does.

I think its intended though, take a look at the way SRMs behave.

Streaks seem to assume a swarm formation with the center of the swarm aimed at the CT, fire a full spread and you end up with as many as 6 CLEAN misses, fire 2 and AMS eats them.

In-universe, the Streak targeting system is incompatible with other targeting systems, like NARC, TAG, and Artemis-IV. So no, those systems shouldn't affect the Streak system.

What the Streak targeting system does is prevent the launcher from firing unless missile lock is confirmed, ensuring that either all missiles hit, or the missiles don't fire. That mechanic has yet to be represented in a MechWarrior game, instead favoring a "lock-on" time followed by all missiles hitting the target. Whatever changes are made to the Streak system, it should NEVER involve missiles fired from a Streak system missing the target, barring the target moving behind cover after lock is confirmed.

Well I guess you could close to grappling range (well within melee range :P)...
