Stock is 2 regular AC5s, but I'll be happy to upgrade them to a triplet of Ultras

Reminds me of "No this is Patrick!" :(

Anyway, I'm excited about it as well. Anyone know if you can recolor hero mechs btw?

triple gauss wont be viable

This will replace the 4x for alot of people. A double gauss cataphract that has decent speed and 3 md lasers instead of 2.

2 gauss
6 tons of ammo
better engine than 255
3 medium lasers

Pretty nasty.

I just hope the convergence from the arms on this variant is better than the 4x. The K2 outshines the 4x only because the convergence is 100x better.

2x Gauss with 3 medium lasers, or the triple/triple UAC5 and Medium laser build both sound hellish. Even a single Gauss and dual UAC5 build is possible for managing heat.

I think the focus on making it a Gaussboat is a bit silly, UAC5 boat would be not only unprecedented but also obscenely powerful, with reasonable ammo and backup weapons, at no slower/riskier than the 4X currently is.

Nope, they're just like Founder's Mechs: 1 color scheme until the end of time.

To bad the Mech doesn't belong to a Character that even resisters on the BattleTech/Wiki. How can it be a hero Mech if its an Unheard of Character?

FYI If you Google my daughter's name the first entry is her Merc Character. So she is more famous a character than This supposed "Hero".

He could be a local hero on a smaller planet. Or it could also be a hero from a non-house military, such as the Outworlds Alliance or some pirate faction. Or it could just be a piece of flavor added to an otherwise completely unremarkable set of hero mechs which have very little diversity among the standard variants and the uniques.

Don't hold PGI to total canon - LRMs are doing twice the damage as the TT rules and so many other things have differences that it doesn't really matter if they create something out of whole cloth now. If it works, and it's fun, they shouldn't be held to such strict standards as galactic infamy.

Even though i really dont like running around without at least 1 missle hardpoint, i might have to pick it up.

The armor and speed alone make it very appealing, anything to get away from the horrible engine size of the 4x.

Buildwise it doesn't sound all that. Definately able to build good mechs out of it, not OP/ It's the money that hero's get that make the difference in this case. In A Moment does sound mroe viable than a WANG though.
