I've done some reading on here and haven't found much other than jamming issues...
This is whats happening...
I'm playing the Trial atlas, go to fire my gauss... nothing... reassign key works fine, figuring it had something to do with jamming/lock up.
Later in the game same deal but my med lazers fire insted of my gauss... ???
This has been happening to me in every game since the new patch, either gauss wont fire or it fires my med lazers (which are assigned to a different key).
I dont spam my buttons, nor do I hold them down... My mouse is a R.A.T. 9 that is 6 months old and works fine.
Is this a glitch that needs to be fixed or am I doing it wrong?

Gauss rifles don't "lock up". Only ultra AC/5 jam (and that's by design and from the TT game).
You have something screwed up happening on your machine if you're having the problems you describe.

No jamming possible on those. Checked your weapon groups?

Check to make sure you haven't had any alterations in the default keys in your settings as well, and that 4 fires weapon group 4, mouse 2 fires group 2, etc. I haven't heard of a bug that wipes out your key bindings but it's worth a look. As the others have said weapons aren't supposed to jam, except the Ultra AC/5 by design when you purposefully fire it faster.

Its nothing to do with my system if refering to my pc, built it myself in March, never had any issues with it. This issue only happens to mwo and only after the latest patch.
Key bindings are ok, as when i reset the group (1 for my gauss) it will fire with the proper key (mouse 1).
Every time it happens I double check group settings and they dont change. When not functioning or when firing med lazers with mouse 1 gauss is the only weapon set to group 1.
Thank you for the suggestions though, any more would be much appreciated.

Submit a ticket there may be an issue with weapon groupings and the new trial mechs.

have you installed your RAT software? did you uninstall any other mouse software from your previous mouse? Do you have a joystick plugged in (try unplugging)? do you have a keybaord periphal plugged in (try unplugging)?

the primary mouse click be default is set to fire the currently selected group so if you have the group your medium lasers are assigned too highlighted then those would fire as opposed to group one.

I had the same problem for a bit with lasers on my hunch after the patch. Sometimes holding down the button while it was cooling down wouldn't cause it to fire when the cooldown was over.

Yes I have RAT software installed, yes other mouse drivers and software uninstalled, no joystick, only keyboard.
I havent noticed that mouse 1 fires the highlighted group. To get gauss to fire I need to select it and un group then group it to 1 again, this would also have me leaving gauss selected and it happens more than once per game. Also doesnt solve why nothing fires sometimes (pretty sure all of trial atlas slots are full), will pay more attention to this tonight.
*wasnt aware of todays update. Am refering to Tues update
