Just got back from E2C2 and was able to do a shout out for Mechwarrior Online in the Computer Game Design panel, which was backed/lead by Disney's Wide Load group. Was a good time and would love to have seen someone from Piranha there, on the panal or in a booth... maybe next year?

C2E2 in Chicago? I didn't go this year but the past two years it has been running never really featured much in the video gaming department. I hope that does change with time though as C2E2's objective was to be the midwest's NYCC/PAX.

Indeed in Chicago. It is not a focus, but even they realize that most of their target audience plays video games, from smart phone apps to counsal to desk top PCs. They had a few panels and they may not have been packed (like Cup of Joe which even filled standing room), but were bigger crowds than some other speakers... while waiting for Cup of Joe I went into Chad Michael Murray's (One Tree Hill) Q&A , which was half full.
Obviously most of the video game panels were targeted at people trying to break into the industry, (hint: learn C++, as Java was considered crap) either as programmers, graphic artists, and game designers (and everything else in between). Daniel Loane of Wide Load was the lead speaker, but you could kinda tell these guys were kinda new at this whole thing. They just didn't really know what to expect. Hopefully in years to come they will expand on it more and do stuff like actually list all the speakers.
Here is a link to the Panel, you can back track to other links to see what the event offered.

Yeah, I love C2E2. It's still relatively new but gaming was supposed to be a part of the whole concept of its inception hence C2E2, Chicago Comics and Entertainment Expo. I do hope to see it mature more into comics, gaming, and everything else. My favorite things there still are the BattleTech Firestorm pods when they bring them around and the tabletop/card gaming areas which are a bit off the beaten path.
Also, reminder that ACen is coming up towards the end of the month if you're interested in that sort of thing.
