I think that a "Refuse game with this player" button should:
  • Send a notification to the MW:O servers. After a certain number of players hit the button, that person is flagged for admin review.
  • Block joining games with that person's account, permanently
  • Block joining games with that person's Hash ID(s), permanently (described below).
MW:O can use a system's Windows Product ID to create a MD5 or SHA hash. This hash only changes if the product ID changes, and that only changes with major hardware changes.

The MW:O backend should allow for multiple Hash IDs to be associated with a profile, in the event that the player has multiple computers, or makes substantial enough changes to alter his Windows Product ID.

A Hash ID would be faaaar more difficult and time consuming to change than simply pushing your ISP into giving you a new IP address.

This could work but one thing bothers me with the idea as is.

The Back shooting Atals is (hopefully) one extream kind of in game troll. But the Newbie that hits fire at the first mech he sees is juts being a Newbie not an ***. At least on the first few occasions...

A safe guard needs to be in here somehow so folks that arn't too good at the game, yet are not actually malicious, don't get banned from too many games just coz ONE player in the team has had a bad experience with them before.

Maybe a thumbs up/down poll at the end of each battle. So if you saw a team mate do something bone headed you can 'boo' him like that; likewise the brave, bold, or just plain lucky can receive your indirect thanks as well.. Players getting a net thumbs down score too high get auto reported to the Devs who can manually monitor him or send an auto email to watch it or something!

Do you think that would put off the majority of the Griefers?

I don't see anything wrong with allowing players to block themselves from playing with certain other players. They're not banning the other player from playing with other people.

We could even put a limit on how often that button is used. (Like it can only be used 3 times per day, or week or whatever).
