Ok I have given this much thought and have weighed the options, Please I hope you will pass this to who ever needs to see this Sincerly Gary Wheeler
The Recent patch has overpowered LRMS to the point that most of the time a single volly is all that is needed to take out a small mech. As i stated i have given this much thought, Roleplay mechanics could be greatly increased without compromising the Lrms damage or hit location by adjusting percent hit ratio by speed. For Instance it is a lot easier to hit a standing Atlas than it should be to hit a commando moving at 120 K/H. My suggestion is to supply an in game ratio of perhaps 50% damage/hits at 65 k/h and adjust by 5% for every 10 k/h over that thus stating a mech moving at 120 k/h would only sustain 25% damage or missle hits, This would balance out easily in the program with minimal effort and make it slightly harder to hit a moving small mech with lrms, After all the fast mechs are the first seen and targeted and easy to kill so they can not fufill the role they are intended to and limit roleplaying which is one of the key focuses of the game. I for one have noticed people all ready saying negative things and I love this game and wish to see it do well for years to come. Also Automatic detecting mechs; in the current system any mech can instantly spot another mech even if the pilot does not see them as soon as they blink into view for a split second then everybody knows where they are, That takes away the element of surprise which could easily play into the game and again increase roleplay. To combat this I would suggest a delay of perhaps 5 seconds before they automatically become visible to computer targeting, for instance if an Atlas was hiding in the trees around a corner and a jenner came walking around looking and didnt see it the Atlas would have the element of surprise and basically get a free attack or time to aim a shot. On that same hand if you see a mech that has not lite up yet and you click next target while the reticule is over them then you could lock target before anyone could see them. While on that subject "targeting" I would also love to see a warning flash of target/ radar lock, that way you know someone just locked on you and you are everyones target for missles. Well thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope i have given you food for thought in adding these features into gameplay. I have more ideas and thoughts but i know you can only do so much at a time. Being an engineer, combat specialist and having played Battletech since its beginning I really love what you have done so far and hope that not only can i give you some great ideas but that i get to see this evolve into the roleplaying action game your vision has seen.
