Well, when playing Mechassault 2, I came up with a possible idea, in other forums, they mentioned windows cracking. So what if there was the possibility of being able to lip the pilot with the Mech still generally intact. Thurs, the Mech could be used for salvage or even better yet, used as a trap by wiring the reactor core to explode as a type of salvage booby trap.

I'm definitely going to hop out of my mech during a battle so that I, a MechWarrior and not a technician, can attempt to rig the reactor core to blow from a signal.

ok, a couple prolems wth this.
1 You came up with the dea wile playing mech assault.
2 Devs have said we will not be gettng out of our mechs.
3 Im thinking it would be a total waste of a mech.... your going to detonate the reactor of a several million C-Bill mech in the off chance that someone wants to give it a hug?

The devs have also said that your mech is never destroyed, merely incapacitated, and you never lose it. If you headshot my mech & I still have it after that battle, what's there to salvage?

I do think it will be a clone salvage, as in you take down a mech you get what was on the mech but the pilot of said mech gets to keep the mech but in a damaged state back in his/her hanger. Could be wrong, or I could be rite. If someone knows and cantalk about give us a hint at least of how it will work.

with skill comes finishing your contract, with completing a contract comes cbills. Nice rhyme tho, you don't get money for kills, your unit will get paid when they complete a contract. A person in your unit could have no kills and still should get the same as kill crazy Jonas who has 12 kills. Because the point of this game is team play not kill count. And there is no mention of salvage in this game and your pilot doesn't have a crane with him and an extra dropship to carry away his hard won salvage does he? Ooops, can't get out of your mech, have no tech skills so don't even know how to take a mech apart or fix it. Hmm this salvage thingy should just be free and easy, give me my loot now. Nope, mech sim, you are the pilot, you have no rolled up character with stats or skills or feats. Just you and how well you use your Mech and if you complete your contract or not. I assume even players that lose a mission get paid just not the bonus for winning the mission. As for salvage currently there is no salvage nor should there be unless you want to micromanage hiring the guys to drive the salvage truck, pay to have the salvage truck and crew at the battle site, defend the battle site while they salvage, then pay to have the salvage taken to a drop ship, pay the drop ship for hauling your salvage, yes it costs money to ship things, ask UPS what it costs to ship a something that weighs tons, then when you get to the Jump Ship you have to pay them to take you to the next star, then another drop ship to take you to a planet, then another driver to take your salvage to a repair shop, then pay the repairman to fix it, then pay someone else to bring the part back and then install it for you. Notice none of these things can your pilot do in the game because he is a pilot cannot get out of his mech, he is not the Ruler of a House, he does not own a salvage crew or a drop ship or a jump ship or a repair shop. So my guess is PGI will eleminate all of that cause this game is MWO not MW Mercenaries and all you do in this game is pilot your mech after you pick which mech you will pilot by picking which weapons it has. You will get paid for being a pilot, you may get bonus pay for doing certain things well. You probably won't get salvage for all of the above reasons.
