I think he means like I do, no win/loss bonus.

Worst idea I've heard all day. You sir, would destroy this game. Think I'm just a whiner, check my stats (Don't even know if you can do that).

How many scouts floating the outside edge manage to finish a match without targetting at least once? No targetting of two unique enemy mechs and 0 damage = zero reward seems like it would work for the most blatant AFKers.

I would note that I've gotten 0 damage in cap victories/defeats plenty of times. Not my preferred game, but they happen.

How hard is it to implement:

-Players that at the end of a match have a total of 0 damage receive no credits or benefits.

Wouldn't that solve this AFK plague?

best regards.

No, it would potentially punish the wrong people, like someone who tried to close in but dies to a dual gauss headshot, or a dedicated scout, etc., and you never want to do that as a company. Better ignore one foul customer than potentially annoy a loyal one.

Eliminate the cause. Make rewards mostly performance-based. That will fix it.

Kicking after 20 seconds of no keyboard input is the best fix. It works for the other FPS' that use it.

The gaming world is littered with the decomposing carcasses of games and developers who thought they would beat illegitimate play by punishing people. Ask the right question, not "how do we beat afkers", it should be "why do afkers exist?" Once that question has been answered ("Because the reward structure is set up to not only make it viable, but to require it if you wish to play a heavy mech with a competitive loadout."), and you can formulate solutions that address the root of the problem, the fact that rewards do not supply players with what they need through regular play; instead of the symptom, the behavior of doing as little as possible as fast as possible as often as possible.

If you have AFK's sitting in your base, lure enemies into it. They might hit them instead of you.

they should fix the crash issue at the start of a match first. just a minute ago my client crashed at the start of the very first match of the day. now my custom mech sits in the game and i can't do anything about that. i suspect other people are affected, too, and would love to play instead of see how high their repair bill will be for not being able to actually participate in a match.

Since we have the X,Y, and Z coordinates why don't the devs look for players that have not had every coordinate change. This could help identify bots which walk in a straight line, or sit in place. I'd rather have a bot roam the map walking in random directions and potentially blocking enemy fire, or better yet heading to the base to cap than have it do nothing.

Was it memory allocation error? There's a fix for that in support forums.

What about my situation? I was piloting my atlas last night on forest colony. I went through the cave the rest of my team found the enemy near the water. By the time i trudged through the cave they killed all but one and capped. I got zero damage/zero assists. I was not afk but i contributed by securing a flank that in any other situation would have fallen had an enemy mech gone that way and me not be there.

If it's just straight up crash without an error message, sorry don't know about that one.
