Ok as strictly a Jenner Pilot who is able to go 150 KPH I personally find it funny that other Jenners must resort to using Streaks in order to hunt each other. Just from my perspective, the ability to point a Laser... (Not Pulse) takes much more skill than waiting for 3 seconds to get a lock and pressing a button. Yet these pilots routinely boast in chat the skill they have or their K/D ratio, yet few of their lasers actually hit.

Am I wrong in this, or do other Jenners think their is actually skill to this loadout?

No just trying to figure out if I am in the minority thinking that using Streaks on a Jenner and then boasting how great a pilot you are is skill.

Op, can not be any worse then someone "boasting how great a pilot you are is skill" by not using them.

Streaks are more reliable. Especially if you have bad ping. That's why I use them with my 300 ping.

Plus you forget streaks are avoidable. I'd say the skill lies in who comes out of the fight alive.

LOL I was the one which inspired this thread because I just killed his Jenner with mine (with 2x ssrms) Iam a scout killer and in my opinion I use the weapons made available to me.
SSRM2 have just been nerfed and it is harder to get the missiles to go where you want them.

OP is just crying I chased him all over the map and got him .


Oh and it started after I killed him and he stated "I have no respect for people with SSRM2s on Jenners" I only replied "Well you just got killed by one so..." no boasting at all...just the facts.

lasers leg jenners ---> jenner evaporates where is the problem? it actually does take quite a bit of skill to navigate while moving that fast and to 180 jj on a pursuer and drop 4 MLs to his face i find myself impressed to no end when i run the buggers down in my "Flakcat" as the community now refers to artemis srm6 cats keeping focus while moving at those speeds requires as much skill as I do shooting them with those srms....

While the first part may refer to both of us the second certainly only refers to me.

Jenner + Streaks = a valid tool to be used in the battlefield.

It's called a "dog-fight." If there are more than one jenner on each side, I would call that a "fur-ball."

Call streak-users "less skilled" if you want, you still gotta learn how to deal with them.

You really have 3 routes as a jenner
More lasers
Lasers and direct fire
Lasers and seeking

Running a 6 energy build is more versatile but hotter.
Running a 4 energy + 2 SRM is more damaging and better for hit and run against larger targets.
Running a 4 energy + 2 SSRM has a steadier damage rate and is better for hunting other lights.

With out knockdown and terrible hit detection on faster mechs, i find all jenner's to have inflated statistics. Finally the small lasers generate proper heat as intended, a 'small' improvement to the issue. Pun intended.

Actually it was the fight after you, but point proven, did not touch me with the lasers :>

Granted they need to fix Lag shield.

To be honest it is all about convenience... While it actually take some skills to track and lock lights (not to mention fire them a a good time) i agree it takes more skill to get the best out of the lasers.

That being said this is just ego-stroking as you want us to confirm that your self inflicted bondage makes you the better pilot. If that floats your boat... good for you. Me i'l keep packing my streaks and continue to enjoy pumping them in to my fellow man. Not that i gloat in chat... but still.

Its not an ego thing I am curious what other Jenner pilots think is all? Once the Lag shield goes bye bye (if ever) I think the playing field will change.

Doesn't matter how it's achieved.

I don't care how a scout tries to damage me. Be it lasers, be it missles or ACs, I deal with it as best as my skills allow me to.
