Gentlemen,

The 1st Blackburn's Raiders would like to put out an open invitation to the House Davion community to join us in some Joint Training Operations prior to the release of Mechwarrior : Online.

To be clear, this is not an invitation for individual players, but an invitation to other House Davion affiliated units.

Individuals must possess Mektek Mechwarrior 4 Free Release, Gameranger and Teamspeak 3. Likewise, we will make available a "Canon based" mech pack for mechwarrior 4 which uses TRO based mechs, weapons, and armor values, which are the closest thing to MWO you are going to get prior to release. (We can discuss the "why" and "how" of this on our forums or in person, or you can look at the explanation below)

If you would like to get in touch with us please visit our website Here

Under our forums there is a section called 1st Blackburn Raiders Unit Liaison Office, or you can reply here in this thread, or send a PM to me through the MWO site for coordination.

We appreciate your time and look forward to training with you.

- Az

Instructions and links below : If you guys have problems with networking, MTX or mektek mercs 4 or any part during this process please contact us. We can troubleshoot almost all issues (100% of issues to date have been solved) and know the fixes for many of the common issues.

For Starters :

1. Teamspeak 3 : Download Here : http://teamspeak.com/?page=downloads

2. Mektek, Mechwarrior 4 Free Download : You can find it here : http://www.fileplane...%28Free-Game%29

This will install a "Client" called MTX. You will run MTX and it will give you the option to install the game. Once you install it, relaunch the MTX client and it will begin patching your game. You need to be sure that under the "Version" tab in MTX you have version 51.03.01.0030

3. Gameranger : This is a program which helps with alot of the networking problems associated with Mechwarrior 4, and is used to find / connect to games.

You can find it here : http://www.gameranger.com/

Once you Download gameranger, you need to take a few steps in order to make mechwarrior 4 playable through it. Instructions below.

DO NOT COMPLETE THIS STEP UNTIL YOU HAVE CONFIRMED THROUGH MTX THAT YOUR MECHWARRIOR 4 VERSION IS 51.03.01.0030, OTHERWISE YOU WILL HAVE TO UNINSTALL AND REINSTALL FROM THE BEGINNING.

1. Find your Mechwarrior 4 file : Should be Under Mektek.net in your program files.
2. Open Mektek.net file, the first sub-file will be a LONG file name, something like Mechwarrior Mercenaries - Mektek Mechpak
3. Rename that file to Mercs4 or something similarly short.
4. Open Gameranger, Go to the primary window, then select EDIT -- Options
5. Under the My Games tab, scroll down to find mechwarrior 4 : Mercenaries. Click Browse in the lower right hand corner, EVEN IF IT HAS THE DESTINATION PATH ALREADY SELECTED, YOU HAVE RENAMED THE FILE AND GAMERANGER WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO FIND IT.
6. Browse to your mektek.net folder, all the way down to the MW4mercs.exe. Select it, hit open, then close the window, you are almost done.

4. The Mechwarrior 4 1st Blackburn Raider / 1st Robinson Ranger Canon Mech pack : This was a combined effort between ourselves and the 1st Robinson Rangers in order to bring Canon mech variants, from tabletop into mechwarrior 4. Please contact us for instructions on how to obtain this.

Why is this important? Because the formulas that microsoft used for mechwarrior 4's mechs are bogus. They allow for about 200% firepower and 200-300% of the armor, from Canon / Tabletop. So what we have done is gone through and created Tabletop variants with the correct values, for most of the mechs up to the 3049 Timeline. Why? Becuase MWO will use Canon mech construction rules and armor values, so it will get us used to not playing double armor god mode, and trust me, you will feel the difference.

228 views, 0 training partners?

Hmm either Lordrush and Qin were right and they make up 95% of House Davion, or our house lacks focus! Come on guys, some friendly games designed to promote unit cohesion and effective battlefield tactics.
