Atlas-DC

Engine: 325
Ballistics: 2*LBX10
Missiles: 2*SRM6-AT 1*SRM4-AT
Energy: 2*MPL

Upgrades: DHS, EndoSteel, Artemis.

Works Best: "Up close and personal"
Works Worst: " Guys, shall we island hop on Forest Colony?"

I think I'm going to go with this build too, do you think Artemis is really necessary?

I personally find SRM's spread close to unbearable without Artemis, so I'd say so. :)

I personally really like the LBX10, although recently I haven't played with it much since open beta launched. It's definitely a good addition to any brawler, if you're looking for a strong close up ballistic besides AC20

The main issue I have is LB10X is 800K each, which, if you're as bad as I am, can take hours to accumulate unless you want to spend real money.

i prefer 2 ac/5s with 5 tons of ammo and 3 srm 6s with 7 tons of ammo and just endo steel. I find it works far better for me. the damage is more consistent, and I have some actual range.

Twin lb-10x is pretty brutal. For lols I put a pair on my 4G once or twice in closed beta. Super slow, super hot, pretty murderous.

I haven't tried playing it with since we got ES and such. Better platforms for that much weight in autocannon.

I was drooling all over this setup in my mechlab already but didn't buy yet. How hot does it run? Do you chainfire everything? Any slots leftover?

I was using 2 x AC5's plus 3 x SRM6's in chain fire. It's a serious amount of killing done in close. I do fancy giving the LB10X a try as I've seen a few folk using them to good effect.

This looks pretty nice. I'll have to look into it sometime but I agree with what was said about the LB10X... getting 2 of those is like buying a Commando. ;)

It does leave me wondering why the LB-10x costs more than a Gauss Rifle. :P

Made a small change and swapped the MPLs for MLs. Spare tonnage I used for more LBX10 and SRM-AT ammo.

If I catch a lance on the rear or flank and up close, I can usually make my way through all of them by myself-->I say this more to the case that the build is effective than my having some elite skills.

I tried a similar build and wasn't really happy with the LB-10x just wasnt getting the killing power i wanted. I am sporting a gauss right now with 3x SRM6. I have done dual UAC5s and 3x SRM6 in the past and liked it too

Tried this. Did not like, mainly due to shotgun-like spread on LBX-10. YMMV!!! Currently running Endo/DHS with 2LL, 2SRM6, SRM4, AC20.

Had a memorable cave matchup on the ice city map with 2LBX-10 + 2ML + 2SRM6 with another atlas. I won... it took 30 rounds of ammo because the shot-gun effect spread damage all over his torso/legs/arms. I was down to ~15 rounds of ammo when I ran into an Awesome, and was pretty much out of ammo halfway through that fight.

Why 2*SRM6 and 1*SRM4 ? Why not 3*SRM6 ?

I'm thinking probably weight (remember artemis is 3tons + 1 per launcher) could probably move to 3 srm6's if he wanted to trade out the MPL to ML.

Lack of crit slots is my guess. Endo + DHS are really hard to fit in an assault mech with a large set of weapons, unlike Lights. I've got well over a ton of free space in my current loadout (and max armor since what else am I gunna do?) but no free slots.

Sounds like an Engine upgrade to me.
